87 Silverado

Well I just bought this truck, it's a 1987 Silverado 4 wheel drive. Has no motor, a blown up th350, and unknown good condition transfercase. I paid $500 cash for this with a clear title. Body is really not bad at all will need some work but nothing too major. Interior is in great condition for its age. It also comes with the original owners manual. Has power locks and power windows. All lights and guages are supposed to work but we'll see how true that is. I already have a ton of plans for this that may take awhile. Short term plans are to finish all the body work and paint it before end of summer. Get the th350 rebuilt and back in the truck, throw the 350 in it that I have on a stand and run it that way for winter. Long term is to buy a Cummins 12v and put it in, maybe an Allision if I can find the right setup. Put Dana's under the truck and lift it some. But that's just for now things may change. Also I'm looking for a name for this so let me know what you guys think.

Well I got my truck today and can't wait to get to work on it. I also just bought cab corners and rocker panels from Brothers Truck. Hopefully soon I can start the body work and tear out the transmission and transfer case. Hopefully it won't be raining tomorrow too so I can get some pictures for you guys.

Decided to take all the front end metal off the truck, which was way worse then I thought it was, but it was okay because I didn't plan on using that front end. Want to go with a 88-91 Suburban or Blazer front end.

Also noticed some problem areas I plan to fix. May go and get the frame blasted too, or I may take a wire wheel to it.

Waiting on my cab metal to get here. Order both rockers and realized I only really needed to buy the drivers side but oh well.

Well I got to looking at my frame and the very rear drivers side is rusted through and missing a good portion of it. But its nothing structural and will work for the winter. Just gives me more incentive to find a K20 frame and axles like I intended. Also I will grab some pictures of it tomorrow as I will be pulling out the transmission tomorrow.

Well I got the transmission pulled out and seen the housing had been cracked at some point and welded back together but was still missing the section that I consider to be pretty important. Also got a picture of my frame hole.
