Warn Premium Hub Problem

I have Warn premiums on my Dana 44. On the passenger side it seems that when you tighten down the allen screws, it pulls the inner piece of the hub out far enough where the hub just barely engages. My stub shafts won't accept inner snap rings so I just have the outer ring only. Driver's side works fine. I'm stumped.

Sounds like you put something in backwards. I can't remember what. But I recall Having a similar problem once

There is nothing that can be put in backwards. I seem to have an older style hub, I guess. Turns out the splined part of the inner hub needed to be tapped back in over the axle shaft, causing the hub to be slightly engaged when fully turned to the left. Not sure why it started creeping out. Oh well, I hope it lasts.

Look closely. I think there's 2 ways that the splined ring will go in. It will work both ways but one way engages with more surface area than the other. Can't exactly remember. I'll take a picture next time mines apart

Re: Warn Premium Hub Problem

Mine must be different. There are only two pieces to this hub. the inner piece which is held in with a snap ring around the outer surface inside the hub and the knob portion.

They look extremely old but in decent condition.
