Re: 64 Chev C10 Slam (Noob Style)

Hi and thanks for the input guys, I think I will do the pancake, I have the front end apart now and it seems like a good time to do it. From what ive read 1.5 to 2 inches is what I should section out of the CM yes>?

I wish I knew if I needed to do the CM for sure or not, but my guess is that I will have to do it to be happy with the stance.

Hi JDoisher, I have your build thread saved along with Coulters and Jmorales as some of my faves. You all are where I got the ideas of cupping the LCAs and other stuff. Thank you for posting your build threads,

Any suggestions on other good build threads I can read?, threads that inspired you?

Have a good week

Andy

I followed Coulters to a tee!! I think with those three builds you are in good hands!! I did mine 1" 3/4 and raised the steering 1" 1/2, I think in the long run you will be happy that you did it!!

Re: 64 Chev C10 Slam (Noob Style)

Hi guys, I havent got around to doing my crossmember yet, Im still having clearance issues with the cups I put in my LCAs , they still rub, I think Ill just buy some tube LCAs with bag mounts and get a PB Dropmember later on,

Meanwhile I been working on my bed,,,

I picked up some fence boards, flat black, and thompsons water seal for about 75 dollars, The fence boards come exactly 6 foot so I didnt even have to cut most of them,,,,

I had some spare 16g steel so I beat most of the dents out of the wheel wells and extended them over to the sides of the bed, I mounted them closer together than normal so I can put some large treads in there if I get the right rims,

I had some spare diamond plate so I put it down in to step on or put stuff on.

Re: 64 Chev C10 Slam (Noob Style)

few more, The bed is trimmed out here and almost finished, I need too mount some hinges on the front of the step so it can be lifted. I put a fitting on the back side of the step so I can hook external air sources to my system, to save wear on my teeny tiny compressor,
Flat black is my friend,
