Re: Chevy SS Pace car catches fire
someone forget a grommet when running wires through a metal part? Did something slide over and touch the battery cables? (thinking battery is in right side of trunk)

Re: Chevy SS Pace car catches fire
How can you tell them apart anymore? I remember when a Chevy looked like a Chevy and you could tell all of the car's makes and they even ran the motor that belonged with the body.

Re: Chevy SS Pace car catches fire
I was thinking/hoping the same thing. Even though it's just a pace car, the car might have to be modified to meet safety (lol, right?) standards to run on the NASCAR track. The car is built/assembled in Australia for GM by Holden. It's good this wasn't during the 500, it's already going to be a PR mess for GM.

Re: Chevy SS Pace car catches fire
The battery pack in the trunk that was used for the Whelen safety lights on the roof caught fire.

Re: Chevy SS Pace car catches fire
Nope but the haters and the uninformed will be quick to blame Chevy.

Re: Chevy SS Pace car catches fire
Why? The last I checked the toyota nascar represented the only car actually made in the usa.
Apparently ford got back in the game with the fusion being made in michigan.
