I didn't get the alternator ac or power steering setup when I got the 5.3 from the junk yard. The engine came out of a 03 burban. Will any of these work off of any 5.3 or do I need to look for specific ones? Also since in running carb'd will I need all aftermarket fuel system stuff? I have read through the forums but guess I can't figure out for sure what will work

If you have the 5.3 crank pulley then you can use the accessories off of any 5.3 or 4.8 because they have the same spacing.

The fuel system depends on how much power you want in the future and if you decided later on you want an aftermarket fuel injection system to go on your carb manifold. I would rather have to big of everything instead of everything too small. You can get a large fuel pump that can be used for either FI or Carb.

You'll need all the aftermarket fuel stuff, but because carb is low pressure, its not the same kind of expense that we have with FI. You can use low pressure line, a low pressure (cheap) pump and cheap fuel filters ETC. if you want to go all-out and get high end stuff you can...but you can get away without it on the carb'd setups.

I do have the crank pulley. I guess I will end up going big on the fuel system I would hate to redo it if I get bored with the carb and decide to go fi

Well....you'll still have to if you go FI. The FI stuff is all high pressure, so lines, pumps, filters etc would have to be redone anyway.

Even if you run -8 feed and -6 return the only cost you are saving is in the line and a few fittings. Just like Br3w said you still have to replace the pump, filter, and regulator which is where things get expensive depending on your setup.

If you plan to carb the motor just plan to replace this stuff later and get the cheap stuff for now.

If you go witg an aeromotive regulator, all you will have to change later is the spring and diaphragm which they sell as a kit pretty cheap. Id suggest spending the extra money on an lines now, they are much nicer and durable not to mention you wont have to change them out later.

On the accessories I will need brackets as well. Will I need to find them off of a car of will a truck or SUV work? I have read that cars are best, but I think that is for swaps into cars
