Re: Finally the journey from Michigan to Oregon is underway

Hello all,

Today we are resting in the town of Richfield, UT for the night. We drove here from Denver on I-70 and the view(s) were spectacular.

The old 72 was gasping for air at 10,000 feet and there were times I was getting passed by semi's with 53 ft trailers

All in all, it was a good ride overall. Long day but made it to the destination trouble free. I will post some photos soon for all of you,

Take care,
Tom

I take 20 W from Ontario ID to Bend. It will drop you off in Corvalis. Straight shot.

Oh Man! I made that same drive over Loveland(?) Pass last summer. Best I could get was about 40 MPH up there, with my 250. That's when some forced induction would sure come in handy!

Re: Finally the journey from Michigan to Oregon is underway

Hello all,

Today we landed in Boise, ID which for some reason i thought we were stopping in Twin Falls. Anyway, we drove 505 miles today and it was a nice drive up through Utah on I-15 and then onto I-84 into Idaho. Bring your fly swatter to Idaho with you .

The photos are some of the 72 on our way. We had lunch at the In - N - Out Burger in North Salt Lake City today. The old barn with the Blazer and the gas Pump were in a little town called Scipio, UT. The Blazer actually did not look bad but no one was around to ask so I did not chance getting to close without permission.

We have 2 days left on the trip. Tomorrow we will drive from Boise to Hood River OR and then on Wednesday, we drive to Junction City and unload and get to work.

Take care,
Tom

Thanks Les, I was thinking about your gas pump when I took the photo. There were two of them side by side actually but neither had globes like yours.

I like the barn too. I have a collection of barn photos like this from all over the country. When they are down, they are done and not coming back. Someone needs to show our great grand children what these old barns looked like before they became camp fire wood.

Take care,
Tom
