z-clutch arm
my 69 c-20. just dropped a new 350 crate motor in it. I bought the truck with no motor. 4 speed manual trans.I can't seem to get the nut tight on the end off the clutch z-arm. The bolt inside spins with the nut. Any tips on how to tighten this nut.

Welcome to the 67-72 Chevy Truck Forum from West Michigan!
There should be two flats on the stud which fit into the slots on the frame member. Check the slot on the frame mount to see if it is worn. A quick fix if it is worn is to weld up the wear area and grind the slot to size. Sometimes the flats on the stud wear but usually it is the frame mount slot. Otherwise if the member is worn, replacement is an option. Jim

I had to jam a screwdriver into the side of mine to get the nut off, then I welded up the bracket so it fits right. Its a pain in the butt spot to get too unless you pull the fender and wheel well.
