CPP disc brake conversion and lowering kit quality - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I am looking at the CPP power disc brake conversion kit for a 70' C10 LWB, will do the 21/2" lower spindles along with 1" front and 4" rear lowering springs at the same time.

Looking for a good opinion on the quality and completeness of the CPP kit and if the are any other upgrades that should be made at the same time. (Doing power steering conversion this Winter)

I just installed this in my 67. I would def recommend buying a different prop valve and not use the one that comes in the kit. I took a board members advice and bought a Wilwood one. Cost me $100. If you buy the grand slam kit, I got mine from Summit Racing. Was cheapest I found and free shipping.

Oh, you'll have to get rear shock relocators and adjustable panhard bar as well. Got those from cpp's ebay store.

What problem did you have w/CPP prop valve?

I'd say there stuff is fair quality for a fair price. Most will recommend Ece vs cpp which in my opinion is excellent all around.

The metering valve failed on mine causing it to spray brake fluid from it. Replaced the metering valve 3 times and same thing.

I didn't buy the front brakes since the 71 already has them but I did buy their rear disc brakes. I wouldn't recommend them for the rear.Checkout the link of the install. I got them working but I think you be better off with someone elses kit.

Thanks for all of the feedback. I think I will give ECE a call and assemble a full kit to compare, it sounds as if it is better quality without the foreign made parts and far better service!

Have all CPP lowering stuff on my truck. Zero complaints and would buy again.

Same here. I also have a CPP Booster, master, proportioning valve combo and it all works great.

It sucks not being able to hear! LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB! After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
