I didn't go far enough back.

Appreciate the pointer.

Are you good with it now or do you need more help? Yes, the photo in post #1 shows how to wire the volt gauge. You are basically using power and ground from the temp gauge which comes from the ignition switch through the pink wire.

The most important thing about this I need to stress is removing power to the circuit board for the amp gauge for those of you who still have there factory amp gauge in place.

There are several ways to do it. You can fold back the circuit board like in my photo or cut it. I would also, if you have the cluster out, remove the #1 and the #12 wires from the cluster connector and tape them off, as well as remove the (2) 4 amp fuses under the hood.

The volt gauge will work as long as it has battery voltage and a ground as shown in post one. How you get that power is up to you but piggy backing of the temp gauge is the easiest, cleanest way to do it.

Please feel free to ask any questions as they come up.

Take care,
Tom

Tom, Installed the kit today. Very easy and straight forward. Great addition to my after market wiring harness. Nice to see the charging system working with a quick glance. This is one nice kit! Thanks, Lee

Hi Lee,

Thank you very much for the purchase and the compliment. You have one of my favorite trucks on the forum here. Not to take away from others but your truck just has it going for me and I love the torque thrust D's on it.

I am glad you like the kit.

Take care,
Tom

Re: Volt Gauge Conversion Kits

weekend bump

I am now offering overlays to convert the stock amp gauge face to a volt gauge face. They look more like how GM would have done it if they offered a volt gauge on our trucks.

I will charge an additional $5.00 over the $65.00 kit price if anyone is interested.

I have included some photos so you can see what these overlays look like installed. I have to give credit to another member for these overlays as they come from him. To respect his privacy, I will not disclose his name but do appreciate his offering to me. If he would like to be announced, that will be up to him.

Thank you all who have purchased the conversion kits from me. Have a great weekend,

Take care,
Tom
