Beautiful Super swb on ebay

Not mine, looks REAL nice. A thousand pics, but no SPID
Wonder if it's an original 557 (probably, and seller states it is) (and wonder if it's an original Super, and swb, etc etc.)
If yes, and can be proven, wow(!!), what a gem. If not, well, it's still a gem! Except for that factory woodgrain ash tray that seems to keep popping up these days...

EDIT: And I'd like to know where he got the idea to use the word Highlander to describe the olive custom cloth... makes we wonder if he mod'ed a swb highlander!

There is a spid in the pictures on the top and it doesn't look like an original. Still a nice truck!

Re: Beautiful Super swb on ebay

Ah, I must've missed it somehow. I'm off my game! Yep, that's a fake (SPID) - and faked very poorly - even the RPOs (#'s and descriptions) are wrong in several instances. It may have been an original 557 as stated, but I'm guessing it was a Cheyenne (has the headliner, which isn't faked without a little effort) but is missing the tailgate handle bright cover. I didn't want to nit.. But I might have if I saw that SPID. Still gorgeous. I wonder what the bid will go to. Clearly a LOT of work went into it, and it's not too far from how it would have looked, but too bad he didn't know chipflyer! Still, if the seller happened to build your dream truck, you're in luck. I'd still check the frame for fish plates though

I don't know what to look for on the SPID as much as some but the fresh print alone is a red flag to me.

Re: Beautiful Super swb on ebay

That's a really nice truck....and somebody put a lot of work into nicely detailing it.
I like that it does not appear to be another home-built 'frame-off'....given the undercarriage looks pretty original...even the tired cab mounts. Personally I would prefer that GM did that scope of work in most cases....and then leave the detailing and various upgrades to the current owners.
That said, I'm not sure if a lot of the upgrades are original and there are some obvious 'tells'. One nice 'tell' is the (tilt) steering column being painted truck color. To my knowledge all tilt columns were always black...BUT....I think body color looks quite a bit better in most cases...just my opinion.
Hope he gets good dough for it....I like it....and will keep an eye on it out of value curiosity.
all Good
