Custom Autosound/Retrosound ?

We built a 70 a while back and had the stock radio converted, with mixed results. We'd like to put an aftermarket one in, but I've heard not so good things about CA and good about retro. Any advice/input? Thanks, Chip

Re: Custom Autosound/Retrosound ?

I am using the Custom Autosound USA-630 with kick panel speakers and upgraded dash speaker. I am very happy with the sound quality. It has USB, ipad and aux cord connections. I didn't order the bluetooth option but now I'm thinking about it. That said, I like listening to the sound of the truck more than blasting music!

Re: Custom Autosound/Retrosound ?

I have a CAS model with their upgraded speaker. I forget which one. It has am/fm and aux cord. I'm not especially happy with it... there is alot of lag when you change the volume. The tuner is a PIA. No upper end to the speaker. But, it works and it was fairly cheap so it's not going anywhere.

I can't speak to the quality, but I thought the idea of the Custom Autosound slidebar radio was cool.

I just installed a Retrosound Zumba and have no regrets. Works great, sounds great.

Re: Custom Autosound/Retrosound ?

I have read tons of negative reviews on custom auto sound. I will be using retrosound when I get to that part of my project

Re: Custom Autosound/Retrosound ?

My wife bought me RestoSound's Model Two about 3 years ago and couldn't be happier. I only use the radio and Bluetooth functions. Bluetooth in a 45 year old vehicle is great, Pandora picks right up and you can even skip using the right dial. Phone stays in your pocket! I have two 5.25" Pioneer speakers in the stock location and the volume goes high enough without distorting to hear the radio over my wore out 28" glass packs and headers with the widows down going 75 mph. The phone call quality is good, even though I can only use it when driving under 30 mph or parked due to the loud exhaust.
