here's an advanced welcome to Louisville from someone stuck here for another 5 years. hehe Are you going to UL? And appreciate the lack of traffic jams while you're here. You can get stuck in all the traffic you can find and still get from downtown to the Snyder in a hour or so.

You should route the fuel line back to the front of block like has been mentioned.

hey guys thanks for all the advice and for the help if i need it along the way. i really really appreciate it. at first i will be going to jefferson community college for a business major then going to a trade school to get certified. this is because i want to own my own business, and work on/fabricate parts for cars/trucks. i think the truck will be fine though and i will go ahead and move that fuel line too. thanks for the help guys, you guys rock

Hey man good luck with the trip. Me and my 71 have made numerous trips from Eastern NC to nebraska and now to Oklahoma. I live about 10 min away from I-40 in OKC so if you got some problems in the area hit me up. As far as drive wise goes I would shy away from the I-44 route through Oklahoma as theres a gay pay toll. My advice would be take I-40 all the way to Nashville then get on I-65 which will take you straight in louisville. Can't guarantee no pay tolls on that road as i always took 24 to 57 up to St. Louis. From my experiences in St. Louis anyway it seems that 95% of the drivers are idiots and they don't know how to take care of there highways.

Oh jeeze, be thankful you're not coming into the ville today. The weather is absoutly HORRIBLE!!! was freezing rain, then 3 inches of snow, now sleet and 5 more inches of snow on the way. The truck behind me going up this little up-grade stopped and started sliding backwards. Even on the main roads it's bad. I was just cruising at around 15 mph (no gas or brakes) and had absoutly no steering or brakes for about 75 feet. Scared the living piss outta me. I've never had a car just not be there at all. Crazy freakin weather.......

Hey Shaun - I think you passed me on the interstate. It was 7:04 pm central time on Wed. evening (1-05-05) at mile marker 51 on interstate 64 in Illinois. Your passenger was using a laptop computer, it was raining, and you were going probably about 70 mph. If it wasn't you it was someone else in an old blue GMC with a blue tag on the left side of the bumper.

talk about reviving an old thread, man!! i just wanted to say that once i made it to louisville i totally forgot to check in on this thread. I saw the last post from user 1972, and yes that was my dad driving and me on the laptop. on that stretch of road, in the rain, we actually fell asleep while driving. woke up for some reason and the truck was doing around 100 mph. i quickly yelled at my dad for speeding lol. anyways...this brought back some great memories.

Hope you have a great trip. On a side note I would recommend switching to an HEI style distributor or put in a conversion kit and get rid of the points. It makes a huge difference in reliability and drivability.

Hey guys I actually sold the truck to a prison guard for 1200 bucks. What an idiot I was at the time. My wife and I ended up moving back to California to Redondo beach and now lomita a few years later in a Chevy blazer towing a uhaul trailer!
