Door lock
Why is there only a keyed door lock on the passenger side on my 49 p/u and no keyed lock on the drivers side. i dont get it. do i have wrong doors?

It was made that way. Back then you locked the drivers door from the inside and then slid out and locked the pass. door from the curb side of the truck, streets were much narrower then and safety may have been a concern over convenience. maybe....

In this area I doubt anyone ever locked their truck except during hunting season when they had their gun in it. Stuff didn't get bothered like it does now.

I always jumped out and let my girlfriend lock it...
Ran into her a few years ago and one of the first things she asked was if I still drove old trucks....

Ya know, Buellton is where Golden State Pickup Parts Co. used to be in the Santa Ynez Valley.
Seth Doulton was the owner, and he might just still live there. Look him up. He is the King of the TF trucks. Last I heard, he had a Cameo and a 55 short bed.
