champion radiator/Steam port line

Swapping a 5.3 into my 72 c10. I'm using a champion 3 row radiator, can i run my steam vent line to the heater port on my radiator? If not should I just run a tee and tee it into my top radiator hose?

I drilled a tapped a hole in my water pump on the boss by the top hose and plumbed it in there. But I've seen them ran like you are talking about to.

I used the heater outlet on my stock radiator. Actually that is an ideal place for it because it is above the coolant level.

I also ran my steam line to the heater port on the rad. Used plumbing adapters from Lowes to connect the 1/4" line to the 3/4" port.
