blazer side panels

Were the rear interior side panels an option or did all blazers have them? I have a '72 with them missing but when I looked closer , I don't see holes to mount all the mounting brackets. I parted out a few blazers yesterday and they all seemd to have the mounting brackets in them. I saved a few brackets, but my blazer doesn't have the holes to mount them to.

Re: blazer side panels

They were not on al Blazers. I believe CST's came with them. Base models did not.

Re: blazer side panels

The original bracket screws were self tappers probably so the assemblers didn't drill through inner panel and hit the quarter panel. The angle pieces can be fitted to the floor and ends once the top rail has been mounted and the panels test fit. You can then install the panels and using a long thin marking tool that will go through the screw holes for the standoff brackets ( I used the wooden end of a small artist's brush dipped in paint), mark the center of the standoff brackets. Remove the panels, screw on standoff brackets, and do final install of panels.

Re: blazer side panels

These will probably be the last items I add due to the cost. I just got the rest of the brackets though.
