Z bar block mounting bracket

I need to know how the Z bar block mounting bracket is mounted on a 1968 Chevy truck with a 292 in line six. It mounts horizontally, but isn't level. It bends upward or downward. Does it mount to the block sloping downward or going upward? I've seen it both ways, but what is correct. Thank you for any help. Pictures would be great.

Some pix of my 292 L6 set up, if that helps:

I have it sloping downward.

Re: Z bar block mounting bracket

It can go on either way the idea is to have the z bar horizontal . If you have old worn engine mounts try it both ways to find the best angle .

Re: Z bar block mounting bracket

It has been mounted both ways, but Chevrolet built it to go one way.

Old Chevy Guy, has the motor ever been out or is this the original setup?

Thanks for the photos and info keep them coming.

Re: Z bar block mounting bracket

Not sure, that picture is a 292 in a parts truck I bought. That engine is a good wrench replacement ( or so the valve cover says) so I know it's been out sometime before but the way you see it is how I got it. Looks legit,it's all lined up nice.
