Here is the hood off my 4000 series 1-1/2 ton donor truck sitting on my 48. I did it a couple of years ago when someone asked if the 1-1/2 ton sheet metal would work with a half ton.

That would give you almost 4" from hub to inside of the fender. That sounds like it would work.

Awesome!! So they are quite a bit different, also looks like the big fender would have a bit more curve to it as well. Thanks for the pic.
