Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
The Rat Ramp!
Yesterday and today I worked on the rat ramp for a few hrs since the temps where nice. I got the heater all cleaned out and all 3 speeds of the fan working nicely! The ash tray was stuck and I had a heck of a time getting it out but once out I got the bearings cleaned up and greased up she is sliding in & out nicly now! I had installed the new radiator about a month ago so I got the over flow tank installed yesterday as well. I swapped steering wheel out and took the master cylinder loose for the booster install. Have to order a new rod for it. The old 67 horn cap cleaned up pretty nice. A friend came by yesterday as I was working on it and said you know I have a few parts stashed for these old trucks, so I asked what he had...factory tilt wheel new dash cover RED and a seat cover! So in a few weeks I'm getting it all for the RAT! I think I'll even order the digital gauges for it later on after we get over Christmas.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
Just doing a lot of fitting and mock up on the new bed sills, front, and wood kit... Lots and lots to do yet. The above frame rear sway bar gets in the way so that needs to be addressed and 2 holes in the new front dont match up with the holes in the sides on the driver side as well, buts no biggie since the sides still need lots of work as you can see. Lots of trouble trying to save the sides...

Thanks, I had my eye on it for several years. It was about 20 minutes from the house and finally this past July I got it.

I got it right after we bought the 64 SS Impala. We decided we needed something to haul the 56 Bel Air and the 64 SS Impala along with my truck to shows!

Getting some freshtoration done on the '72. Here are before and after pics of the seat. Time of day and sun make the color look different, but it's not, it's original vinyl in the original color.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
Yesterday, I finally finished up under the dash, and installed my "new" glovebox insert (I've had it in the garage for about six years, so it was time ). For those wonderinding "how difficult was it?, not at all, it just takes a little patience to get the screws to start. I also changed out my window seals. Makes all the difference in the world.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
Started running all the new SS brake lines.. Not sure why they all came out on the OUTSIDE of the frame at the front where the all meat up to go up to the MC... but I guess i can fix that easy enough...

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
I recently redid my brake lines and remember reading that there were some trucks in '67 that had the brake lines run to the outside of the frame like this, and there were kits available that replicated this. For the kit I used, I remember there being an option to choose inside or outside the frame. Looks like you ended up with the kit that goes outside.

Swapped the cast iron intake and qjet now I need newer kick down and probably swap to cable throttle while I am at it. Truck barely got out of it's own way before. Feels like it flies now
