Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

Thanks kilrcady and Boog. The PO installed the mirrors, so the holes are there already. I could measure to see if they are the same distance back on the passenger and drivers side, but it's unlikely I'm going to drill new holes. I'll give the wood shim a shot.

Thanks kilrcady. I tried the same but didn't have great results, so I went a different route. I put a decent gauge piece of black copper wire at the bottom - figured it wouldn't rot or rust. But, what really made a difference was cutting away a piece of the mirror swivel ball to allow for more adjustment range. I just used a metal cutting wheel on my dremel.

I'll probably have to keep a good coat of grease in there to keep it from rusting, but at least it's useful now.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

I knew that this new to me cab that I bought was going to need cab corners when I bought it, most do.

Also, being a member and a lurker for a while, I have seen quite a few interesting things that have been found in our trucks that was done by PO's.

This has to be up there on the list

Not only the spray foam, but they threw the cap in for good measure!

It's scary to think what people have done and thought they had done a good job.

Nice...I bought a '68 C10 a few years back that had similar issues....the rusted through trailing arms were masterfully covered with plasti-dip, dust & whatever else...good enough that I didn't catch it until I jacked up the truck one day & both rear springs fell out...it was a clean realistic job...best I've seen in a long time.

I thought you were having lunch with some Ham hock or some kind of pot roast. That is up on the list.
