I love the rugged simplicity of the inline 6's. So if you build another one, keep us posted . . . Just remember!

Is it an illusion or did you build out the firewall?

Re: Tricked-out Chevy six cylinder engines

OK, not a tricked out motor, but a very dependable, and in some rpm ranges, torquey as hell 250 inch motor. Damn thing loves to climb hills. It's in a '65, but as near as I can tell, it's about a '69 or '70 motor by the casting numbers.
This was in my truck when I got it. When I replaced the valve cover gasket, was amazed by how clean it was inside- no sludge at all. It may be a Jasper motor ( a motor rebuilding company) , don't know, but it uses no oil at all.
I've grown to really like it, especially the sound.
Some day I'll doll it all up.

I see you have the rebuildable fuel pump. Is it easy to rebuild them? Can you still get the kit? Most '67s and -later L6s were issued with the disposable [solid yellow anodized can] fuel pumps. Easier to to replace than the SBCs which have that whole song-and-dance about the cam push rod.

Kits are still available, but looks like they cost more than a new, non-rebuildable pump. Figures.
