Gmc v12

Has anyone come across a vehicle using a GMC V12 (2 of the 60s V6 engines mated together somehow)?

If so, please share.

There is one in the parking lot of the truck and car shop in Orange, CA and has been there for ever.

Re: Gmc v12

As much as it looks like two V6s mated, it's really not. I don't know if they saved money by resuing casting pieces from the 6 or what, but it is, in fact, a single large casting.

Perhaps more important, though, if you think about it, is parts commonality. Need a distributor cap for your fancy V12 truck? No problem, it uses two 6s that you can get at any GMC dealer. Same for almost every part, which is just a duplicate of the V6 part. So they'd be easy to get serviced almost anywhere.
