Anybody remember the Big George trucks?

My dad and I were talking about random old custom factory trucks and he brought up the Big George. The guys he works with remembered them too. I couldn’t find anything about them online. Just wondering if anybody else has any info on them and possibly some pics?

Here's some if not all of the special edition square bodies. No mention of a Big George.

If it didn't ring a bell with Keith, it didn't happen.

Re: Anybody remember the Big George trucks?

Maybe it was a local dealer's attempt to make a special edition with a few after delivery added features

Probably this. It is fairly common for dealers to do special edition stuff. Some decals, a set of wheels, maybe exhaust, and they have a truck no other dealer has.

Re: Anybody remember the Big George trucks?

Probably a dealer's special edition. Kinda like the Black Widow edition for new GMCs.

Or perhaps they are confusing it with Beau James edition. There was also a Big 10 so maybe that?

Re: Anybody remember the Big George trucks?

Thanks for the reply’s guys. That’s strange, maybe it was a local thing. He says it was a dark-ish silver, with blue, magenta and some other color triple painted on stripe. And it came with stacks.

The only trucks I know that came with stacks are the Dodge Lil' Red Express and the Warlock. Those were made in the late 70s. Never heard of any GM versions of pickups coming with factory stacks.

Yeah that’s what I said too. Apparently there were multiple of these trucks running around here back in the day from what people are saying. They say they even had fender emblems that said Big George. Maybe there was some kind of conversion company here locally. It just seems strange that I can’t find a single picture online.

It would be really cool if you could dig up the story on those trucks.

Yeah I would love to. I’m definitely going to try. Maybe eventually I’ll find someone who’s dad had one or something.

Re: Anybody remember the Big George trucks?

I'd first look to your Dad's coworkers who say they remember them.

What are the names of the dealerships are in the area you recall seeing them? Even if they are no longer in business that could help.

Re: Anybody remember the Big George trucks?

I knew a guy that had "The Blizzard." It was a 78 I believe, set up for plowing from the dealership, but wasn't a factory type of thing. Still very cool, he ended up junking it and cutting the emblem off the box for me, I'll have to see if I can dig it up.

This one had "The Blizzard" and a picture of a guy blowing snow right on the side of the truck.

That's an interesting article. I wonder how accurate the info on the Royal Sierra is. My truck is a Royal, and if they're correct it's kinda rare.

I’m attempting to figure out the names of the dealerships at the time. I don’t believe any are still around. But I did ask my grandma if she remembered the trucks, and she did because my grandpa always wanted one. I wish he was still around, he would know. Man he could fix and it hor rod anything.
I also asked a couple of other family members today at a Christmas get together. They remembered them also. But no one knows anyone who currently has one.
