Hood ID - 69 Chevy
I've been browsing the web for a few hours trying to find this hood. Can't decide if I like it or not, and it's on a 69 C10 I'm looking at buying. I haven't seen one that doesn't gradually slope down towards the front.

That’s on a ‘67.

Re: Hood ID - 69 Chevy
Listing states it's a 69. Maybe they put 67 front end on it? Here's a side pic. I didn't think a 69 hood could fit a 67 without changing the fenders?

Re: Hood ID - 69 Chevy
Looks like a 67 or 68 grill sitting underneath a 69-72 hood with a really bad nose job...

Re: Hood ID - 69 Chevy
Yeah. I've been scratching my head about the hood and thinking something just doesn't seem right on it. Might steer clear of this one. Still looking around for a SWB. Might just look for a cab and add new metal front and bed.

Re: Hood ID - 69 Chevy
I agree! With short bed supply these days I wouldn't walk away from this one if it was solid and priced correctly. Good luck and let us know which way you went.

If they wanted to make a '69 look like a '67, they worked hard at it. Yes you would need 67/68 fenders and fill in the reflector holes [if using '68 tin] , and a 67/68 radiator wall. The tell would be in the door handles, and a 3-spoke steering wheel, flat black glove box door and a lot of other small details. Big back windows were available as a "Panoramic" option. Perhaps the '69 listing is a typo?

Re: Hood ID - 69 Chevy
I hear ya. The truck, overall, does look in good shape, but they didn't post pics of the rockers or cab corners. Grill I'm not too worried about because I would want a billet one anyway. Hood, though, just makes me curious on what they did. From the link below, it makes me think there are 67-68 fenders on this 69. The hood line doesn't quite match the fenders at the front. I'm one of those silly people that likes to keep Chevy's as Chevy's, Fords as Fords, not mixing years together, etc. Probably some OCD coming out haha.

Late model steering wheel, cab looks gloss black, including the glove box panel, most likely been painted at some point. What I'm thinking is it's a 69 cab, but 67/68 nose and bed. I'll just have to get more info on it. Without seeing it in person yet, hard to tell. It might have been a LWB cut down to a SWB, too. Who knows. Frame won't matter. I have crazier plans for that lol. They're asking $6500 obo for it. |

Re: Hood ID - 69 Chevy
Looking for a driver to drive a while, then move it to an Escalade frame, 6.0 awd. The less body work i have to do the better.

Re: Hood ID - 69 Chevy
If their body working skills are to be measured by that hood, well, I'd be real leery of that one.

Re: Hood ID - 69 Chevy
It looks like it could be a HD hood for 67 like the 99-02 chevy trucks had.

It looks like the front part of the front fenders have been lengthened too. I lightened the picture up some, so compare it to my '70 front fenders. LockDoc

Re: Hood ID - 69 Chevy
This makes me think even more that the fenders are 67-68, and that they modified the hood to fit it somehow. In that link I posted previously, the 67-68 fenders are slightly longer from the wheel well than the 69-72.

Re: Hood ID - 69 Chevy
I think I would be better served buying a cab cheap, fixing it up, then buying a nice used or new front end and bed. I really want a 67-68 GMC short narrow.

Re: Hood ID - 69 Chevy
I'd bet that those are 69-72 fenders filled with bondo to look like 67 fenders...
Good luck, Rg
