Re: Shop improvements and upgrades. Better Space!
Let me clarify... my “broom” finish looks more like a wire brush finish...with no certain direction. Looks like Daniel’san from Karate Kid did it... wax on, wax off. It’s horrible to sweep, can’t be dust mopped as it snags everywhere, so I have to vacuum for best results.
But I do have A/C |

The AC would have been very nice this summer, especially down your way. While I have that on my wish list, it actually isn’t bad in my shop. Keeping it closed up helps as the concrete doesn’t heat up. And I think the second layer of roofing helps as well since the back half doesn’t heat up like it did before the new roof was added. Oh, my buddy got his 52 Buick on the road. 6.0 with 2 turbo’s, Fatman front clip and 9” on truck arms all riding on air. We found it in a barn around here 6 years ago this week. Rock solid. |

I have heat and ac in both rooms but for some reason the heat only comes on in the summer and the ac only in the winter

Re: Shop improvements and upgrades. Better Space!
Doug that Buick looks nasty...bet it sounds nasty with 2 pumps on it...what you ought to do is tie those brooms to that mini gator and turn the g-kids loose....
Nlpd...im not sure how rough your floor is but it sounds bad...at work theyve brought in people that can smooth the concrete...they use a big sanding disc on a machine like a floor buffer..works great...you might try a rental place...they may have something similar...

Re: Shop improvements and upgrades. Better Space!
Doug,
Sorry for polluting your thread! But to clarify... my floor finish sucks, but it’s FULL of cars, trucks and StUFf. So the grinding isn’t an option. I’m thinking I need to develop a ShOp Roomba. |

I think that Roomba company with the robot vacuums started with a shop model. |

Yep, On the “to do” list I think. Emma has a hood, going back on once any bugs are worked out.
Day we picked her up.... |

Re: Shop improvements and upgrades. Better Space!
I have a friend who is bonkers over Buicks! He probably has 6 or 8 of them, most in the 50’s too.
I bet he would give birth to something nasty if this Buick rolled up near him, he fancies himself as a purist when it comes to Buicks. I personally love it!!

For sure! Style was nice to look at, made a statement and helped sell vehicles.

Re: Shop improvements and upgrades. Better Space!
I really like Buick’s too...and purists probably would have a cow over this one. Some get really mad about modifications, even over my 56 Chevy once.

Re: Shop improvements and upgrades. Better Space!
Agreed. My buddy did a really nice job with this one. And at highway speed, there is very little wind or road noise. The original weather strips and seals are tight.

Re: Shop improvements and upgrades. Better Space!
I drove a '51 Buick for a few years (daily driver). That was a sweet highway machine. The straight 8 was very smooth.
I drove it from Houston to Detroit and back. Went to Mexico in it. Drove it to Colorado and went skiing. It was a great car. Gave me no troubles. Good memories.

Re: Shop improvements and upgrades. Better Space!
Thanks Kees! No more bat droppings and I am sure they moved to one of the barns around here.
Bigdav, that sounds like a great Buick! I’ve wanted a 48 - 52 for years. GSP7, the hood is in my buddy’s shop. Still enjoying the additional space! |
