Re: Door handle button fix

Great video however I would use stainless safety wire to reduce the stretch when that plate pops out again.

Safety wire with safety wire pliers would make that fix permanent!

good call I will probably pull it out and safety wire it. I used what I had on hand as I needed to drive it the next day.

Re: Door handle button fix

Great idea, Kalle. With my truck being 67, that issue has had me a little worried. Nobody makes replacements for 67, so this is good thinking man.

Yes especially for the 67s since they aren't remade.

Hope you don't have to try it soon and your doors keep opening.

I used the universal part known as bailing wire.

Re: Door handle button fix

I used JB weld. After 2 years, they still work fine.

I like the aluminum square tube cut to fit and rivets in it.

Check this out.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: Door handle button fix

I did this with my originals, but I used the wire and JB Weld method. They worked foul up til the day I switched them out for new ones. I still hold on to them, just in case.
