This is what I used in conjunction with the hoist. It was 89 bucks through Northern tool.

Not so much to the truck....For the truck

20' wide x 30' long and 12'6" high under rafters.

Enough room for a 4 post hoist and the Chev

Roof and wall sheets go on this weekend if its not raining.

Shortened her up a little and changed over to 73-87 style engine mounts. Still need to finish welding the inner sleeve and smoothing the cuts for the motor stands but it’s all in.

I took my "new" truck to the mechanic to check all the fluids, and look over everything. When the differential oil came out, I heard "oh $#it". So I took pictures today.

Is it trashed or can the spacer just be pushed in and make sure the tolerances are all in spec??
Nevermind, I found the answer on your personal thread... Thats a bummer.

Yea, he just pushed it back in.

Sorry, couldn't resist. It was all taken apart, cleaned, new bearings, seals, and new brakes shoes because what was on was cracked, and all new spacers. I posted a series of photos on my thread.

Not really, the transmission makes noise, there was water in the oil but no metal. Yes, when I was going downhill and turning right around curves, it howled. As you can see, the pinion gear was hitting the carrier (correct the terms if I got it wrong).

Here is a short video (on Facebook, sorry), showing how loose it was.

Yanked the engine out of Old Red today to hopefully solve a vibration problem I've had since I put the crate GM engine in 10000 miles ago. I'm going to have it bored 30 over and put new pistons, rods and have everything balanced.

What products did you use for the windows and doors? I see someone on this forum used to make a 67-72 specific power door lock kit, but they don't appear to be around anymore.

The windows were 91 chev truck motors and the lock are swap meet. All the switches and relays are hobby store. My own design beyond that.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

Well, the new project spent a full week in my shop, new wheels cylinders, hoses and shoes, new heater core, new thermostat and water neck, new pressure and temp gauges, new choke cable, new exhaust hanger, carb cleaning...I was really hoping to drive it to work tomorrow, but couldn’t get the brakes to gravity bleed...so, it’ll have to wait until I can get my 14 year old son to come down for a leg work out while I bleed the wheel cylinders.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

Polished this up with Pro Honda. Comes in a spray. Beyond my expectations, it took out some tuff areas with ease. I could brighten it up some more, but why bother. May have painted it, they look amazing painted, but seems they "breathe" easier without it.

$1550 to have this rebuilt. It's shifted smooth since the day I got it, but 140K miles, and an occasion of abuse, it was due.

I finished welding up the unnecessary holes in the firewall and started the body work. Now I get to learn firsthand why everyone gets sick of sanding.
