Oh yeah they're loud! I can really only use about 1/3 volume before it gets too loud in the cab... especially when they're pushed by an amp... no problem.

Re: "Sweet Pea" 1975 Cheyenne 20

Well, its taken a few days to post about it, but I had the time of my LIFE at C10 Intervention last weekend!

We rolled out from Sonoma with a pretty big crew, by the time we hit Lodi we had at least 30 trucks if not more.

Driving out there in a big crew was awesome, nothing but kickass trucks in the rearview and out in front. Once in to Auburn we got checked into our hotel then headed right out to the cruise.

Awesome 50 mile cruise through hwy 49 gold country and along the American river.

That ended up at Crooked Lane brewing, where we tossed back a few cold ones and crushed some tacos. Highlight of that event was getting to meet a bunch of heavy hitters in the C10 industry. The guys from Provost Motorsports are such a rad group of guys, building amazing rides while still managing to be hella cool and completely laid back. Ronnie Wetch pulled up in Orange Slice, which is a stunner! And he was super cool to hang out with too! Met BoostedBossLady, talked superchargers and squarebodies... So stoked!

After all that, we ended up at the Red Lion Inn, where it was an all out parking lot block party! All the big names in trucks were there, slangin tacos and bumping killer tunes late into the night... And the show hadn't even begun!

Sunday morning came awfully early, but we were greeted with stellar weather, and an acre of trucks shined up and ready to go!

Once the gates opened up we all piled in and got parked. So many unreal trucks, blazers, and burbans!

After walking the rows upon rows of killer rides, checking out the vendors and stopping by the Big Fish Cantina, I returned to Sweet Pea to find a note on my windshield.

Later on it was awards time, and sure enough my number was called! I picked up the hardware for Best in Show, 1973-87 Trucks! I still cannot believe I was chosen! There were so many kick ass trucks there.

Anyways, it was an incredible time all in all. I can't wait till next year!

Nice job at the show! I think People love the Originality of the truck.

Short Haul on your truck what is your bed liner made of "spray in" or a commercial product like Line X?

Do you like it?

It was done by the original owner just prior to sale. It’s heavy duty and thick, I’m guessing commercial like Line-X but there’s no logo or tag on it. PO didn’t say... I really do like it, but I always wondered if the bed had a rough spot or something he was covering up?

Thank you! I used Krylon Farm & Implement rattle can, color is “old equipment yellow”

https://www.amazon.com/Krylon-1953-I.../dp/B01B3EI5VC

It’s a pretty close match.

Re: "Sweet Pea" 1975 Cheyenne 20

Hey Short Haul, I have older GM radio and a newer radio pigtail. Can you tell me what wiring I need to hook up radio to the amp just li your Infinity amp. The last pic is a close-up of the back of the radio, there are 2 pigtails there with room for a 3rd one. Yeah, that bunch of wires under the dash is a mess, there was a newer (if you can call it that) cassette radio installed there before.

I want to hook it up like yours to basically listen off my iPhone. Thanks.

So basically what you’ll need to do is find the speaker output wires from the radio and route them into the speaker input on your amp. My am/fm radio was working when I started the project so it was as easy as connecting the speaker outputs and that was that. Good luck!

That black truck was a C-20 diesel originally....found an 86 short bed with bad paper work and combined the parts but kept the diesel vin "cab" to avoid emissions testing....I had a 75 C20 that was green like yours.....sold it to a friend in Cotati...you may see it around.....Its fondly referred to as "Booger"...beat to death but wont die....

Re: "Sweet Pea" 1975 Cheyenne 20

Changed her oil again, and added some "Restore" this time around. She's been drinking the Dino juice pretty steadily, and a little blue smoke on start up... hoping that'll help out a little.

Things I'm hoping to do soon:
-In bed spare tire carrier. I'd really like to get one mounted up with a good looking spare. It currently doesn't have a spare.
-Underhood insulation. Mine is decent, but starting to decompose a bit, it'd tidy things up under the hood.
-Still debating seat cover ideas... The more I think about it, the more I just want the seat recovered in original fabric. It's a shame the cover is only worn in the one spot, it'd be wasting a lot of solid seat fabric to toss the whole thing. I wonder if it's possible to just replace the one panel that's torn up...

That's pretty much it for now. The wife has taken quite a liking to her recently, and has been driving it to work and back.

Re: "Sweet Pea" 1975 Cheyenne 20

That’s great that your wife is into the truck. Must make ya smile to see her drive it.

My truck doesn’t have any evidence of the under-hood insulation and I’d quite forgotten that some trucks have it. Is there any performance advantage or just to keep a clean look?

I hear ya on the seats. Both of the trucks I’ve had had pretty minty seats except for the driver’s buttprint. I never did replace Earls’s cover, just living with the rough driver’s side. It’s only original once and all that. Earl had vintage-looking blanket seat covers over top and I’m considering something similar for the new Suburban. I like the repair idea for Sweet Pea but wonder if the original material has faded to the point it would be tough to color match material. Can you get a sample of the OEM material in your truck and see how it matches? Repair is mucho better than replace, and any upholstery shop should be able to sew in a new panel.

Have I mentioned I love this truck? I do. It’s perfect.
