Medium Bronze Doors

I have two medium bronze doors for sale. With respect to the stamping, they are correct for 68-71. I have only wiped them down with a damp rag--I would think the paint could be shined up with some detail work.

Both doors have minor surface rust (mostly on the inside surfaces of the door that were never painted). The corners and bottoms are extremely clean. Each door has 7 mirror screw holes. Most of the sound deadener is still in tact on each door, but it is starting to flake.

The driver door appears to be completely ding-free. The passenger door has one small ding on the inside bottom (pictured--directly under the window crank near the very bottom of the door).

The price is $1500 for the pair. In my opinion, these are comparable to some NOS examples.

I am willing to ship via Fastenal, but preference will be given at any time to someone who can pick up locally. I would also prefer to sell them as a pair.

Driver door pics in posts #1 and #2.

Passenger door pics in posts #3 and #4.

According to the map below from their website, I would be in the eastern zone.

Another shipping option may be uShip.

Re: Medium Bronze Doors

I'll try to get some better information, the guy who answered the phone, had to ask someone else...
what would you estimate the size and weight of a crated shipment of both doors would be?

I shipped a fender through Fastenal before but it only went to the next state....pretty simple process after I built a shipping crate and delivered it to the local branch.

According to my bathroom scale, one door shell weighs 42 lbs and measures roughly 40" wide x 48" tall. A 4' square pallet weighs 40 lbs (according to google).

I'm guessing you would want it fully enclosed in plywood? Think there would be a few ways of doing it:
1) Lay one door on a pallet. Build a "shelf" over the top of it for the second door to lay on and enclose everything in plywood.
2) One pallet with both doors side-by-side standing upright and stabilized in some fashion.
3) Two shipments--one door each on a pallet.

I would estimate 150 lbs total for options 1 & 2. Maybe a little less for option 2. Maybe 95 lbs each for option 3.

I could likely find a pallet for free. I would ask you to buy the other materials and another $20 for my time building the crate.

OK thanks for your willingness to do it...I'm going to estimate the size and weight just to get an idea of the cost....and of course I would reimburse you for the materials...
I'll get back to you when I find out

Re: Medium Bronze Doors

Just a rough estimate from Blue Line ($308.00) along with the cost for materials to build a crate and the initial cost of the doors would put me at about 2K for the doors.
That going to be a littler deeper than I want to go...
But thanks just the same, you shouldn't have any problem selling them as good as they are.

Re: Medium Bronze Doors

Update: sale pending on a deal that involves shipping. I plan to proceed with the deal unless someone can pick up in person before 12/18.
