3 Speed Saginaw - One last leak to figure out, Ugh!

So I've just changed my transmission oil and thought I got all the leaks by adding a new shift shaft seal and and new speedo bullit but after I put the oil back in I noticed another dang leak!! Grrr.

Does anyone know what this hole just under the fill plug is for? Please tell me it's easy to seal?

Thanks

If I am remembering correctly, that is the drain plug.

There's no bolt though, unless it's like a counter sunk plug inside the hole? I ended up draining the fluid from the bolt just to the left of it facing the back of the truck.

Re: 3 Speed Saginaw - One last leak to figure out, Ugh!

Just a quick update, I dug into the hole today and cleaned it all out to see if there was some kind of plug or bolt. Turns out there are no threads and the hole is just cast closed. I guess some oil must have gotten in the hole when I was filling the tranny and leaked out a bit later making it appear that there was a leak coming from the hole. I'll take the easy fix! Here's a pic of the cleaned out casting hole.

Re: 3 Speed Saginaw - One last leak to figure out, Ugh!

Just realized after I posted the picture that it looks like there's a metal plug in the hole! Interesting, could that be factory or did someone add that?
