Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

I spent time Saturday and today sanding and polishing up the big azz headlamps on the wife's Yukon. Actually these are the original ones that were replaced with some she found online some years ago. The online ones didn't hold up as well as OE, as expected. I polished the replacements up last year and they're bad again. I saved the OE headlamp assemblies and found them in the north end of our storage unit, the one I have been working on the last couple of weeks. Forgot I saved them. Anyhoos, I started with 400 grit paper and finished up with 3000, then the polisher. Whole lot of work for something that will need it again in less than a year I imagine.
You guys have any tips on how to make them last longer? It's just plastic.

Supposed to be some kind of "wax" that you can put on them after polishing. Saw it at the parts store but haven't used it.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

My Cocaine dealer dropped this off today. I don't have a drug problem. I don't care what they say.

It's actually gravel for around the pool. It might as well be Cocaine for what they charge for it these days.

I just had 16 ton of 1" down road rock delivered and spread on my secondary driveway. I think the wife said it was $450.00. That was for the rock, delivery, and spreading.

That's a deal. That pure white gravel was way more. It's pricy but I'm only putting it around the pool. Everything around the pool is going to be sky blue and white. Wish me luck trying to keep it all clean.

Thanks. The boss is happy.that's good enough for me. The post toppers do have lights and they're solar powered. We're sitting here waiting for dark to see if they come on?I'm sure they will.it was sad to go see Bob in October thinking we would never see him again but he's hanging on so we'll go again, ice cream won't hurt either.take care.Greg

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

I found my clothes!!! They were packed way back in my barn. I was getting tired of the Salvation Army look with just a couple of T shirts and jeans in my suitcase. I hate moving and remodeling. I miss having furniture. My desk is two cardboard boxes and a folding patio chair.

Nice truck with a cool bed, but the open tires to throw crap from the road up under a car isn't the best idea. Wish it had more pics, but I'm not interested in the ramp anyway, as I would move my roll back onto it.

Yeah, I posted that on the Heavy Haulers Forum the other day but I didn't figure a ramp would work for you so I didn't let you know about it...

I posted to show you the height you would have to deal with. I knew weren't wanting the truck... Tim (SpecialK) posted this for Rottenwood Garage inspiration awhile back (6 years ago) https://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/...68&postcount=5

I sand with 1500 paper and then paint them with this . The Toyota is going on three years now no fogging.

I'll have to try that. The headlights on my black Vette are getting downright embarrassing.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

Got the last load of limbs that came off our trees from the April Fools day blizzard cut and loaded on the trailer yesterday. Normally, I would have stacked the bigger wood out by the road with a free sign, but everyone in a 100 mile radius has piles of this stuff to dispose of. Off to the compost site later today.
Pulled the radiator out of the roll back to get repaired. It was new a few years ago but has leaked at the filler neck since shortly after install. I'll bring the engine up in TDC #1 and check where the rotor is pointing. Strongly suspect the timing jumped last fall and if so, I'll replace the timing set and get it running again. If I buy a different truck for the bed, I'd like to sell this chassis for more than scrap with a non running engine...

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

i am now the proud owner of the most expensive ice cream EVER but all for a good cause.we're leaving in the morning for Medina,Ohio to visit our friends that we saw last October in Ohio.Bob is fighting pancreatic cancer,a battle we know we won't win.he loves ice cream and we have been bragging about the Trueman Berry Farm not far from here and their homemade ice cream,so we're taking him some.i drove today,80 miles to get a cooler 1/2 full of dry ice, then stopped at Trueman's on the way back.the Mustang is ready to go,the cooler is packed and in the trunk.hopefully we'll get there with the cargo in good shape.Trueman told me they travel to friends in PA often and take their ice cream in dry ice and it does fine.hopefully this will work?take care.Greg.
