Re: Help: New suspension is almost un-driveable

It's not your springs! Tons of people including myself run Tuff Country springs with ZERO issues. In fact, anyone that rides in my truck comments at how smooth a 53 year old truck rides.
If you want to waste money on different springs, go ahead. The results will be the same until you find the root of your issue.

If it’s not the springs then it’s the shackles. Can’t be anything else.

When I loosened the shackles, bounced it and retightened I think I did notice that the ride softened just a bit. Still too rough though.

Problem with the shackles is that torquing them to 40lbs will squish the bushing so much that the shackle starts to get narrower on the bottom than then top. Right now I have them looser than 40 as I thought that narrowing was bad. I’m going to back them out even further to try to get the narrowing down as minimal as possible and see how it rides.
