Which shock absorbers you running?

Looking for new replacements for my '72 C10 stock hight. Something kinda sporty, smooth, reduces body roll, and quick at adapting to road changes.

Re: Which shock absorbers you running?

I installed Street Performance OEM shocks 2 years ago and they have performed great. As far as stopping body roll install a front anti sway bar, best bang for the buck when it comes to improving your trucks handling.

Re: Which shock absorbers you running?

I'm running Bilstein 24-192941's now which are a nice improvement over the Rancho 5120's I was running. My Burban is lowered some so the part number may not be exactly correct for you.

Re: Which shock absorbers you running?

I got so tired of trying to find a shock that gave the ride I wanted. I went with QA1 coil overs
18 setting I can change in a matter of minutes. Finally have a Great ride.
Yes it was a bit pricey but in my opinion Well Worth It

Re: Which shock absorbers you running?

The cheap blue Monroe Monro-Matics. They were on the truck when I bought it. They ride surprisingly soft with the Hotchkis springs. I will eventually step up to a better quality unit but I am satisfied for now.

KYB MonoMax. 565032 front, 565037 rear.

I bought them because they were the biggest diameter shocks I could find, or the closest size to the ones.

I guess I like them but it's not like I'm going racing or anything.

Re: Which shock absorbers you running?

Put Monroe OE Spectrums ( #37049 for Front and #37040 for the rear ) on my 72 C10 a few years and quite happy with them. I recently lowered my truck and went to a 17 x 8 rim and was thinking maybe should get a different more sporty shock for the truck but my research convinced e the OE Spectrums are a good and are doing the job on my truck.
