Max. Spare Tire Size??
Anybody happen to know what the maximum spare tire size is that will fit in the interior spare tire well? Right know I'm planning on running 285/75x16 BFG Muds on my 72 4x4 Burb,....trying to figure out if i'll be able to carry a full size spare.
Thanks! |

Re: Max. Spare Tire Size??
I know on my K5 that 33's are the biggest size tire I can use in the interior spare mount and have it fit correctly.
I have a suburban and have yet to try a large size in it but I am sure someone else will chime in.

Re: Max. Spare Tire Size??
Yeah, not going to fit correctly. Not fitting in my 91 either. New bumper with an exterior rack and a swing out for me. 285s are pretty large. Plus I'd rather be standing straight up than hunched over wrestling that 65-75 pound tire with my bad back.

Re: Max. Spare Tire Size??
I keep a 225/75/15 in my stock interior spare tire well. Fits snug.

Re: Max. Spare Tire Size??
A 225/95x16 is the same overall height as the 285/75x16. If the width is the problem it may work.
