Re: Be vigilant c10 owners
Due to the ridiculously high prices that these trucks go for now I even think of theft where car theft, or any other, basically just doesn't happen. Especially with Google Street View invading our privacy. Criminals can locate vehicles sitting from their laird, then go directly to them now

Re: Be vigilant c10 owners
If I didn’t have a garage, I wouldn’t have a project truck

Stuff like this makes me sick. Plus in Kali they can almost be certain you are unable to protect yourself.

Re: Be vigilant c10 owners
I don't care what you drive, this C/10 owner was anything but vigilant. How did this even happen? It obviously wasn't taken to a shop. That's no cheap truck whether bought or built. I guess it was bought or the owner wouldn't be paying someone to work on it. No common sense at all. Would this ever happen to any of us? NO! I commented before w/o clicking the link. Buy a truck like that then hire some fly by night mechanic. probably off of Craigslist or Marketplace? He drew the criminals to himself. I'm already way more vigilant than that without even thinking about it

Re: Be vigilant c10 owners
Rather sensationalist article, he didn't take the truck to his mechanic. Sounds like he looked for cheap mechanic on craiglist and got his dose of reality when he met them at their supposed "shop". If it was his real mechanic, he'd just drop the truck off, and his mechanic would make it disapear later on.

Re: Be vigilant c10 owners
I believe the guy did try to do the "cheap" route and was not very diligent in self preservation. Fortunately, I live in a right to carry state and believe in exercising my rights, when possible. Faced with this situation I fear it would be jail, hospital, or morgue for all involved.

Re: Be vigilant c10 owners
I’m glad I live a good ways away from these big cities. For a short while I had contemplated a job in Albuquerque. Glad I didn’t do it. They’ve all turned even more into hell holes. Living mostly in the middle of no where has some huge advantages, that and doing all my own work on everything I own. I’ve never take a single vehicle I own to a shop… ever. Seems like it could be a really stressful thing in a lot of situations.
