Jason, I believe you can go to their website and download the wiring harness schematic. There is a forum member Vettevet that I like to recommend for wiring issues, he is usually on the electrical forum.

Re: Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project

I got my front runner from GM Performance and I'm not sure what years Chevy used the type of alternator I have, if that makes sense.

I'll be keeping an eye on this Jason as I plan on using an AAW wiring kit too and I'm sure I will run across the same problem.

Re: Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project

On my 1 wire alternator the engine has to be revved up to get it charging then it will charge all the time. I have my wire ran from alt straight to battery.

Re: Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project

The alt should have at least an 8G wire to battery and a good size ground from engine to battery and cab to engine, if all that is cool just use a bit smaller pulley and it will turn it self on quicker at lower rpm, I use a lot of them and the pulley they usually come with is just a bit to big.

Thanks guys, I will do some checking when I get back home. I do know that my wire from the alt runs to the starter. I don't know if that matters??

Re: Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project

Fine run to the starter for power, as long as it is large enough and is away from engine heat...which it prob isn't, to much heat causes heat soak and is like dropping wire size.

Re: Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project

Not much as far as the truck going on here. Just a little tinkering with some of the wiring that needs finished. It has been beautiful weather here so trying to catch up on outside things and yard work...

Same here Jason, not much work done on the truck. Trying to catch up on the yard work while the weather is nice. Damn yard work taking away from out truck time

Sorry guys, no current updates. It's a busy time of the year, especially with only every other weekend off work. I built my house 7 years ago and have never finished all my landscaping due to some pretty big trees, this spring I made up my mind to get it done!! Starting last Saturday my son and I cut about 12-14 trees and cleaned up as we went, so I have 5 or 6 left when I get home this Thursday. After that I have a dozer coming for a few days to level off some of my yard. So to make a long story short, the truck hasn't seen any "love" lately. On the other hand, I am thinking of ordering my wheels soon.

I know the feeling I have many things I've put off last year trying to steam roll the truck to be able to drive it soon.

Those are very nice wheels, just be careful with there shady customer service if you decide to go with Coys.

Those would be really nice on your truck. I've always like their wheels. I've never owned any though.
