It is rough on me to just set still.
I know that it is the best for me to just take the time now to set still.
I DO have a visit next week at the VA.
I just hope that by then my leg is better.

Hello Everyone;

Well we DID get some SNOW; (pic)
This is a couple of shots from this morning.
I just had to get out n see what the truck would do in the snow.
Had never had the gren truck out in the snow.
It is just a 2wd.
Made it to the coffee shop n back home with no problems.
In the house for the rest of the day,
Working on the gauge holder again.

Re: The "Frankenstine" build;

This midwestern dweller needs to get around more...somehow I don't associate snow with New Mexico. Glad you were able to get out to the coffee shop and back home to work more on the gauges Tim. Heal fast!

AD;

I'm in the northern part of New Mexico.We are like 6500ft here.
We do get SNOW here most ever year, just not that much.
That is the reason I like it here.
My leg is getting better,just need to stay off it some more.
I worked on the gauges again today.
I'm trying to get them ready for paint.
So doing the filler n sanding to make them look good.

Smile Re: The "Frankenstine" build;

Hello Everyone;

Well tomorrow I go to the VA to get my leg sockets redone.
I have been staying off the leg as much as I can.
Still got the blister so still not able to wear the leg for very long.
Hopefully after tomorrow I will be able to wear the socket n leg so that I
can get back to working on the (Frankestine) build.
Will try to get to the metal shop n see if I can my buddy to cut me a couple
of 1" thick u shape shims for under the cab mounts.
At this time I have a 3/4" redwood block under the cab.
So once I get my leg to working right I can get back to work on the build.
Redone the gauge holder to fit better(still need to fit it some more) then will redo the filler.
Then back to the radiator support n fender braces n alignment.
Found out that I had to tack the fender brace to the rad inter fender.
I had a hell of a time getting the fender,fender brace n the radiator brace alignment hole lined up.

Just n update.

Re: The "Frankenstine" build;

Tim,
Good luck with the geting the sockets redone and glad you've been able to mostly keep off the leg.
Sounds like you have a good direction for the cab mount.
Keep us posted.

Re: The "Frankenstine" build;

Hello Everyone:

Will went to the VA today;
Got the leg worked on(pic)
They had to make a pressure opening in the socket.
Will still have to stay off the leg for a few more days.
Still a raw spot on my leg. (pic)

Worked on the gauge holder again;
Bad news ( filler did not set up) so now I get to try again. (pic)

It is (SNOWING) here again to day.
I made it home before the snow hit.

Hope every one is doing good.

Re: The "Frankenstine" build;

Tim, Hopefully that will fix the problem and that your leg will heal up quick. Follow Dr's advice is usually best. Give you a chance to fix the gauge holder. It didn't set up? Snow...again ugh, been lucky here this winter so far.

Re: The "Frankenstine" build;

AD;

I'm still trying to get use to the body filler.
One time it set up to soon,the next time it doesn't set up.
So just going to do little sets at a time till I get it covered .
Then sand the whole holder down for painting.

Yes!! I all so hope that the leg heals n the opening will work to help heal the leg.

So how is the wife doing?
Hope she is getting better !

Thanks you;

Hello Tim, That gauge pod looks like a good sit down inside the house job. What else do you have like that to do?

Good Morning Everyone;

Thanks to ;

With the SNOW that we got here yesterday n last nite;
It looks like a good day to stay inside.

I'm going to try the gauge holder again today;
Think I'll try to draw up some type of door panel cover on a large sheet; the door is like 35" x 33".
The kick panel all so.
May be clean up the wing windows (old tint)
Once it warms up where I can get to my buddy's metal shop. I'll get him to cut me out a couple of 1" spacer for the front of the cab mounts.

Got the leg n socket on this morning not to bad yet.

Re: The "Frankenstine" build;

Hello again:

Well it is still (snowing) here,just a real slow fall.
So went out n got the gauge set out of the truck.
Had to do some work on the holder to make it fit better,
With that said , it did chip some of the filler off. (pic)
No problem as I still need to do the filler on the holder again. Will try to get that done today.
I all so got the wing windows in the house to clean off the old (tint) n clean the paint off the metal. (pic)
Have all ready cleaned the side windows n the rear window.
(will post pic later when cleaned up)

Hello;

Well got the wing windows cleaned up;
All so will show the side windows cleaned up; (pic)
The blue n green paint is on the rubber around the windows; (pic)
Will most likely have to replace the rubbers at some time.
Got the filler on the gauge holder; lets see if it set up this time.

Re: The "Frankenstine" build;

Hello;

It was a good thing to do on a bad day.
I did redo the gauge holder again.
It did set up this time.
Sanded it down n redone it again.
Made the filler a little redder this time to set faster.

Re: The "Frankenstine" build;

Hello Everyone:

Back on my feet some,still a little sore.

Took the mt mounts to a buddy to get the 1" spacer cut out of 1" steel plate.
He said give him a couple of day till he could get to the 1" metal out in the yard(SNOW Covered).
Worked in the house on the gauges for a couple of days.
It took me a couple of day to get the holders refilled n sanded, then primmer n sanded,then painted. (pic)
Still a little cold to be out in the shop working(concrete hold the cold)
