Re: 1970 Chevy Longhorn Restoration progress

This part makes for a complete set of NOS brake hoses. Just picked up the rear hose for 133' wheelbase trucks.

Re: 1970 Chevy Longhorn Restoration progress

I picked up a set of wheels that I will get powdercoated white. 2 16.5 X 8.25 and 2 16.5 X 9.75. These will look great with original dog dish caps.

Very cool project. I love all the NOS parts. I have a similar addiction. Maybe not as intense as yours I'm subscribing.

I bought this one because I couldn't find my NOS one that I bought a couple of years ago. If I find it, I'll let you know.

Re: 1970 Chevy Longhorn Restoration progress

Thanks guys. I have getting some work done. Just not on the truck. I sanded and painted our expected daughter's changing table and crib. She will be here in early May.

I did mangage to restore a bucket seat console just recently. I mainly did it so I'd have some project related to trucks to work on at my house. That's the BIG problem of having my build in my parents garage. I can't hit it for a half hour here, and an hour there.

But there are always parts to buy. I always think, "what else is left?" And then something I don't have pops up. Sometimes I wonder if my hobby is the truck, or the parts
I even picked up an NOS headlight door for my 65 Plymouth Sport Fury.

I am on spring break now, if I can manage to finish The List (you know, the "honey do list) I will get hopping on those last few spots on my bed: I need to fine tune the top rails and hit a few other spots on the inside of the bed. There is only a few hours left of real work on the bed before I need to seal start block sanding. I keep telling myself, I can do it.

Now time to go check that Easter Ham.

Have a great Easter!

I've been so busy that I forgot I even had a build going on. I did manage to find one more hard to get NOS part for those "details."

Re: 1970 Chevy Longhorn Restoration progress

This next addition is not NOS, but has seemed to elude me for quite some time. Only due to the friendship and commaradarie of a GREAT fellow board member Brian Atikinson, has a set of original shoulder belt seatbelt retainers found their way into my possesion. They needed a bit of TLC, so I tried my best to bring them back to life. Again, thank you so much, Brian!

Re: 1970 Chevy Longhorn Restoration progress

Thanks!! I am trying to put power steering in my 71 c10, my question is can I take the PS set up from a newer truck like a 73-87 c10? I went to 3 local junk yards to see if I would find a PS set up from a 67-72 but nothing was available but there is a ton of the newer style c10s

Re: 1970 Chevy Longhorn Restoration progress

Hey man, great looking project. Your NOS collection belongs in a museum! I also have a 70 Longhorn, 350 combo. It's a survivor with only 78K original miles on it. Was thinking about rebuilding it, and you may have given me the spark to get cracking this summer. We'll see. Thanks for all your info and posts. Good luck on your paint job!! It's all downhill from there, my friend!!
