Well, the day finally came, I drove my truck for the first time in months! Granted it was only up to the exhaust shop, but it got there under its own power. Lots of little things to finish up and one big one (the bed), but I see the light at the end of the tunnel.

BTW, what was finally decided upon for wheels? I just re-read your entire thread and you mention consierding using the slots but that stick on weights hit the brake calipers when mounted in back. How wuill you address that, or are you changing to another wheel? With your stock color I Vote (as if it matters!) for nice deep Rally wheels. I think they'd look great on your truck. Either that or old fashioned gray centered Torque THrusts, not the full polished ones.

Can we see those pix, can we, huh, huh, huh?

I think I will be going with the Rally as soon as I recover from build (no cash in the budget remaining). The build cost more than I planned (surprise surprise) so some things had to be put on a future list (interior, wheels, grill, suspension, etc...) but it's going to be a great daily driver in the interim!

I hope to get some more pics this weekend when I go out to RRC.

Working on the Turn signals, can anyone identify the 2 "hot" wires in the below pic? The color codes are not even close to the diagram...

I must have a replacement switch or the wire have faded in a strange way! Problem is, it was take apart so long ago, and that they don't have the old harness or anything to ID them! Little advice, take a LOT of photos when you are taking things apart...

What did you ever do with the AC, did you use a sanden or the stock 5.3l compressor? How bout that air box? I didnt know someone else was doing that. Too cool!

We used the stock compressor and the old heater box for the Air Box. I will be going out to hopefully pick up my truck tomorrow so I should be able to post more picks once it is in my garage!

Well, I got my truck back and I am in the debugging phase. The check engine light is on because of a 315 code (Crankshaft variation not learned), and I had a MAF issue that was solved with a another new ECM. I have to thank Current Performance as they have been great to work with and they truly stand by their service!

Other issues include some various coolant leaks from the radiator core (fixed with a new radiator) and the drivers head steam vent (still have to get to that one). I had a speedometer issue where it could not read from the ECM output but that is fixed by tapping into the VSS sensor directly (I could do this as Speedhut gauges present a 100K ohm load on the input vs an Autometer speedo that presents a 10 ohm load and would cause shifting issues)

Other things I know I have to do include color sanding and buffing, wood bed finish and install (temp plywood is in), verify fuel pressure, and setup a better fuel filter setup. I figure the list will get longer, but at least my truck is running and driving!

Mpg thus far, 18-20. I was wishing for a little more but I'll take it as my old TPI gave me 14.
