shannon, looking good as always. question. are you going to not run bushings in your cab mounts? seems like it would be alot of stress in those areas. or am i just not seeing them?

99 to life, thank you. Yes there is 3/8" rubber under each mount. I did not take any picture of them, but they are there

I got a lot done today. I had a buddy bring me a 3600 frame. I changed a bolt pattern on a set of wheels for him in trade. I mounted the cab first thing this morning. Then fit an welded in the rear floor pieces. Moving forward, I mounted the shifter and made the e brake mount. I still want to put a gusset on the bottom where I have it mounted. I will have to put it on jack stands for that. Then put the rest of the floor in. I ground all the welds so it is smooth. I still have to make the rear corners so that is for tomorrow night. Then make the tunnel and then onto the cowls.

Oldman3, Thank you. I do love doing them that way because the look so nice. They are also very rigid too.

It was a busy weekend. I worked a few hours on the 51. I cut out the passengers side cowl and cut out the louvers on the cowl. Then made a patch for the hole. Welded it all in and ground it up and did a little hammer and dolly work on it.I started to fit it, then my buddy came over for me to finish the bed cover. It turned out great. This weekend is the street rod show in York so I will not get much done.

Oldman3, Thank you. I am really excited this year because I can finally drive the panel in. Last year I missed it by 2 weeks. Glad you had great weather and a great time. Our weather is going to be sunny and hot from what I have seen on the weather channel so far. But you know how that is. I probably will not know how to act because I will be off from Thursday to Sunday. They were already joking with me at work telling me I can not have off.

Hey X, How much warpage did you get on those panels without them being mounted? I was going to do the same thing but was waiting till they were welded in place.

69CST-V it did not warp out too bad. There was a little but at least it is easy to hammer and dolly with it off. I did have to bow it a little at the top . I just did it over the tire. I would still fill it first because I think it will work out better in the long run.

Went to the NSRA nats east and got together with Ken and his family for a little while which was great. I did manage to buy a under the dash pedal mount for the brake booster. It will be sunk into the fire wall by about 3". I will be using the c4 corvette booster and master cylinder. I am going to finish both cowls and then build the fire wall and the toe boards.

98layinframe, thank you. I love doing the cab sheet metal. The worse part is doing the bottom inside and outside doors. I have pieces that are shrank to the profile of the door and I mark the door so I can get them right. The outside is not as bad as the inside. Its getting the right amount cut off and connecting the outside to the inside and getting everything right. There is were the fun begins!

Rods57, thank you. I love the looks of the cover also. I TIG welded another frame for my buddy bill for my old 1940 ford truck that he bought from me. I also have another one to build for another guy I met at the street rod show in the future. It is for a really nice AD truck.

Well I have been cutting on the truck. I have both cowls welded in. The drivers side I am not pleased with because the inner to outer cowl I think was not welded together right. I naturally did not notice that the bottom angled down to the running board like it did till it was welded in . So I think I will remake that lower section. No big deal just pisses me off. Then I cut out the fire wall and I have it blanked out. I am using the stock c4 booster and master cylinder so I made the recessed panel for it. The fire wall will be paneled like the floor too. Along with the toe boards and the removable trans tunnel. It should look great.

I worked on the firewall tonight. I have it ruff cut and have the booster recess figure out where it goes. I also drew out my bead roller path for the paneling. So hopefully I can bead roll it tomorrow after work. Then I can cut out the booster recess and weld it in. Bend the lower part for the toe boards to fit against and then final fit and weld it in. Then fix the drivers lower cowl. Then onto the toe boards and tranny tunnel.

Oldman3, your wish is my command. Haha. It has been a while since I posted.

It has been a while since I posted because of summer and fathers day. I was ripping this weekend. I worked Friday and today for most of the day. I have both cowls now done. The fire wall is made, bead rolled and installed. I made the toe boards and the inner cowls on both sides. Then mounted the fenders in the front to see how the cowls and fenders fit together. Fits nice. I also popped on the bed to see what I need to do to mount it. So here are the latest pictures.
