One good thing to mess with as well is pedal ratio. Ive got multiple holes to adjust to on my pedal to see how I like different ratios. Once I saw a few dudes doing the flush mount, I just had to. Couldn't stand the idea of the brake master nearly touching the core support!

Right! Those two ladders and 4x4s have really helped me get a lot of stuff painted. The real task was moving it inside when I was done with the final coat! Its funny, its a completely nonfunctional modification but it really makes that core support look so much better.

Ive been spending a ton of time working on the front end and getting it all cleaned up from its years of abuse and clay in South Carolina and Illinois. I use a gray scotchbrite pad and some soft bristle brushes, and brass wire brushes for the thicker rust areas to really dig in. I'd been trying to figure out what to do with the rust areas on the fenders and grill that aren't bad, but I'd like to slow or stop them, and decided to use Eastwood's internal frame coating. It sprays well and feels like it seals well, and the spray splatter matches that of the OE 'undercoat' spray, so it should be pretty hard to distinguish at a glance. It really is amazing how much was left bare!

Vintage Air front end kit all going in. Everything fits very well, keeping in mind that you would always have to bend hardlines a little to make them fit to satisfaction. Very pleased with the kit! My lower grille splash panel is in its final spot, and hopefully that means the grille is too. Here's some reference pics for anyone who would ever need them.

The radiator upper clamps/brackets have always sat a bit tight, pinching the harness pretty hard, so I drilled the spot weld out of the clamshells and moved them forward about 3/4 inch and they fit... better.. ish... it will work for now. Fender to wheel clearance is pretty good, was thinking of cutting it for the future where I'll do bags, but the fender isnt that easy to remove so Ill just leave it as is. No need to make more work for myself right now. And the internal frame spray spots I sprayed Im pretty proud of, looks pretty OE!

Lookin good! Are those radiator brackets the 2/3 core or the 4 core ones? I am working on getting my new radiator installed and didn't even realize there were different brackets until I saw mine didn't fit the new radiator. I had to order the 4 core radiator brackets which are about 1" longer.

These are for the 4 core ones - I also have an aftermarket core support and radiator, which may play into this issue. The radiator seems just a bit too tall to fully fit proper, so I may need to adjust even more

Heater delete box installed. AC hoses and heater hoses run through it, and harness run through the side. Came out pretty good! The AC hoses and heater hoses look so messy under there, hopefully the inner fenders will help make that stuff a bit more organized. We will see!

Crappy weather lately, soon as it clears Ill be grinding the door welds down, I normally take those panels outside so I dont have to deal with cleanup in the garage. In the mean time Im trying to see which caps I like better

I would go with the dog dish, but if you have both sets you can just swap them out! I have three sets of caps for mine and I go back and forth on which ones I like most.

Ive even thought of doing one set on one side and the other on the opposing side, probably for shows only, couldnt bare to drive it and lose them while on the highway since theyre both so hard to find.

I found it on Facebook about a year ago, the guy was 3D printing them and posted one in a group Im in, I dont recall how much he charged but it wasn't bad. Im not sure he makes them anymore, Ill double check with him and if he does Ill put his info up here

Went to a ratrod show in Clayton NC over the weekend as well, and found one of the trucks that peaked my interest in 67-72s that lay on the ground. Havent seen this truck in years, had followed it on social media but to this day still cant find it online, awesome truck.

Got kind of concerned about driving with inner fenders this low, so I removed the sprig on the passenger side and moved the wheel all the way up and wow... does not rub. I can put it all the way against the end of the shocks vertical travel and spring the wheel. Surprising for sure!

That's cool you got to see that GMC. I saw it at the C10 Fall Revival in '21 and it's surprising to stand next to because it's sooo low. I guess you can have that effect when you literally cut the rockers off your truck!

That's nice that you clear the stock inners, although it's dangerous doing a test like that. Now you know you need more low! I still haven't figured out what to do with mine. Until then I am just going to run without inners.

When I see trucks like that, where theyre just having fun, it really makes me rethink my stressors, like dang man stop stressing over that small gap in the body line and just get it driving!

Im still not super sold I wont have a good bit of interference, so I may end up modifying my stock ones like they did on the Nacho truck. I havent seen guys modify the stock ones much, they either go without or do the Stoner/Hills or Slosh Tubz. Nice products, but I can think of a lot of stuff I can get for a grand to get me on the road! Namely Porterbuilt control arms, or even saving that for a Dropmember (a man can dream )

Some fake patina stuff here, did the drip rails and the bow above the windshield, I need to do some sanding and maybe some extra hits from a spray can but they came out okay. And one pic of some real deal hardcore patina as well

Stepping away from the build stuff..

On Friday, June 16th at 4:53AM my dad, Michael Seal II, took his last breath. It has been a long, long road and fight with cancer, which I will explain in this post.
He was diagnosed with glioblastoma in June of 2020 after we had talked to him about his speech beginning to slur and at times be unrecognizable. They found the large tumor almost immediately upon x-ray. The doctor explained this disease to us and him, and basically said to eat all the bacon, ham and eggs you can "cause you've got maybe a month." We were shocked, distraught, confused, and most of all, lost. Those feelings materialized into a post on Facebook, which led to someone seeing it and reaching out with contact info for a doctor in Wisconsin. I may also add, the doctor here in Virginia told us there was zero fix for this. Well, this doctor in Wisconsin is supposedly one of few doctors in the world who operates on this disease. He motioned us to get there as soon as humanly possible, his team working out the details over the weekend when they were off the clock, it was amazing the leg work into this. We took the soonest flight out and rented the hotel. Its still June at this point. We had to drive back, as brain surgery does not take well to altitude. The doctor in Wisconsin states he was confident that he removed 98-99% of the tumor, as this is a exceedingly difficult cancer to remove. He states that we need to immediately start chemo and radiation. To cut this story short, we went from a few weeks to live to an undefined amount of time. This disease has very little data, and the longevity post surgery has nearly zero data, and his disease always comes back, it will never go away, but it wont show until the very end. We ended up having three years and three days since his initial diagnosis. It had been very tough, he lost his ability to cognitively speak, write or even perform most tasks, eventually lost his ability to cognitively understand. The last time I got any response out of him was a week before he passed, the 24 Hour De Lemans was on and I pulled his bed in view of the TV, and explained to him that Hendrick was in the race for the first time in decades, representing NASCAR, and said "aint that cool?" He nodded.

Here in Williamsburg, VA there is a place called Hospice House. It is filled with the most kind staff, they are helpful, energetic, and emotionally responsive. And this one is unique, it is free of cost, and an absolutely beautiful establishment. I will never forget their hospitality and grace. This allowed him to have 100%, around the clock attention, and to allow us to have a place to go, that did not feel like a hospital, and be with him for his final days.

In the midst of it all, I found myself back in the garage, looking for things to do (no shortage with a project) and decided I was tired of getting no call backs on a windshield install. I decided to install it myself, trim and all. First time ever doing it, especially nervous with the trim aspect. But its in, and a throwback to the old C10 Club stickers, I bought that little decal in like 2014/15 when I got into these trucks. Finally found its home.

Also found the color for the roof, the photo makes it look more plain white than it is, its more of a antique white (we used Wimbledon White as a reference) and found Nissan had something close apparently. I also finished the passenger door inside. Now onto fauxtina-ing it.
