Sweet fenderwell headers, I've got a set of those on my small block 63 nova wagon. Let's see more pics of your truck!

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

I removed the drive shaft to change the U-joints and found that the bolt on the front shaft that holds the yoke for the second shaft had backed out and the threads are damaged on both the shaft and bolt. It has been rattling around trapped by the U-joint for a while. I also got my new gauges almost done.Still need the Trans Temp gauge.Name: 003.jpg

Patina trucks call for patina parts....installed UOS (Used Old Stock) dash pad (wish I had taken a before pic....) and accomplished quite a bit of buff/wax on the interior. PROGRESS!! Note the factory "orange peel" paint finish to the right of the center dash vent.

Supposed to be 70 and sunny on Sat and Sunday here in southwest OK.... sounds like more PROGRESS!!

Before/after fuel tank filler neck opening. Again, patina trucks call for patina parts. And the "magic formula", Wizards, and a lot of rubbing.

What did you use for polishing pads? Foam? What color?

That looks great! Thanks

Thanks. For the wide/open spaces on the body, I use a Meguiars yellow foam pad, but for what you see in the pics, I used a very nice (thick/fluffy) 100% cotton washcloth. I wet it, wring it out so it's damp, fold it in fours, squirt a little compound on it and away I go. No wet sanding needed on the interior because its usually fairly well protected from the elements. If the oxidation is heavy, I'll wetsand w/2000 and then use the Wizards.

Still have some dirty work to get done. This truck was just about at the "more than I'm capable of accomplishing" point for me because I have to hire out my welding, but it came w/such a strong provenenance and was such a good deal, that it was hard for me to not buy it.

For the welders out there, anyone need some practice?

Looks great! Really inspiring me to do mine. I have some overspray from a rattle can used to paint a camper shell by PO. Would you wet-sand that or maybe just use acetone first?

Probably cheapo Walmart 99 cents/can. I'd try the Wizards first, but if it's not taking it off fast enough, 2000 grit. Would not use acetone. The paint is durable, but fragile...make sense? It will look GREAT once you're done.

Those are nice. Let us know when you get them on how they fit and perform. Might have to get me some of that.

Picked up my passenger door from the blaster today. Took it to the body shop for repair. Repair done and hung already.

Exchanged a bad driver door I'd bought for a better one. Dropping it off at the blaster in the morning.

Rust removal and metal repair on the cab and doors almost finished!

First project in HEAT ( its 60 degrees here now, go figure), get the wood bed supports pulled for blasting/powder coating so I can run the bed down to the body shop and get the insides/wheel wells/tailgate/new front bed piece painted to match the rest of the truck before getting the wood floor finished.
