I drove her about 10 miles or so today, up to around 60-65. Drove good with no vibrations that I could feel. (passenger side window not in) I had to sit on a milk crate since seat cover is'nt in yet but she sure did run good and smooth.

Looking good Bryan. I'll bet it felt like 70-75 mph sitting on the milk crate. I remember driving to work and back (10 miles each way) sitting on a milk crate waiting for my seat. That was a long time ago and very crazy.

It must have felt really good to drive it for the first time.

Got some parts in today. Parchment door panel skins and armrests with new handles and upper chrome trim. Also the sill plates, headliner trim, and wiper refills. When my seat cover gets here this should pretty much finish the interior. Then just bumpers, grill, and tires. The back wheels should be here pretty quick from Coys...lol. We'll see how long that actually takes. I ordered the billet door for the fuel fill a day or two ago. Can't decide on a black liner or color matched. Im thinking color matched since the truck is low and easy to see over in to. We'll see when the time comes.

Where did you get the door panels?

Looks like you have a few things to do over the weekend. Do you have your glass in yet?

I was going to do a color matched bed liner on Tom, but because of time constraints I had to do black, and it turned out so good I'm glad it went that way. It offers a good contrast to the red and it covers dings pretty good.

LOL I'm going to be doing that once, I have to drive it across town to my welder so he can do several welding jobs one of which is in the lower pinch weld between the dash and windshield support so I won't have a windshield in it for that trip, but by law you don't have to have a windshield, so other than being really windy it's perfectly fine as long as it's warm outside haha!

Dont want to comment further on that...lol. The door panels came from Classic Parts. I had one good metal panel and I found another at the junkyard. I have em all cleaned up, ready for the new skins. Tonight I put the stainless sill plates in, the disc brake decal on the tailgate, and the new wiper refills. Once truckseats gets my cover to me the interior will be pretty close. I need to order a can of the super white vinyl paint that you told me about so I can color up the headliner that I got. I held one of the skins up to the door and the parchment really looks good. Glad you talked me into it (Zoomin Steve). Gonna get my tires ordered pretty soon, still waiting on the 20X10 C57's from Coys so I spent part of my tire money on interior stuff to avoid losing time. I have the billet fuel door, just have'nt fit it in yet. After that just bumpers and a grill and I'll be set.....All I like is finishing

Wow that white parchment looks really really good. I'd go color match as well because you aren't so solid with your color on the exterior so it won't be overbearing to do a blue bed liner but that's just my opinion

Got one of the door panels done... Im no upholstery expert but it was pretty simple. One thing though, I cant remember what goes behind the door handle and window crank. Seems like there was a washer or a plastic disc or something

It would make sense that there would be an anti abrasion plastic shield disk behind the cranks to keep it from rubbing the vinyl but I don't know if there was one or not.

You need escutcheons under the handle to protect the panel.

Thanks for everyones comments. Its really coming together. Im working on the billet fuel door in the bed floor now. Waiting on several things still like rear wheels, seat cover, and passenger glass. Those things are ordered and coming. Im gonna go with a 255/45/20 and a 295/40/20 on the Coys. I got the radiator back today and put it and the new fan shroud in. That 72 that I parted had a nice 3 core HD radiator in it so I took it and had it cleaned and rodded. Came out like new...

Still need to find some front and rear sport bumpers and an outer grill shell around here somewhere to avoid crazy shipping charges. Thanks again for everyones nice comments. I can see the end of the road from here...
