Re: so lets build a truck/my '52 chevy

suicide doors 4 link, way too beefy but still pretty nice.

old size was 255/35/20, new size is a 295/30/20.

I finally got my rims put on yesterday. I put the bullet center caps on today but no pics. I'll get some tomorrow.

Re: so lets build a truck/my '52 chevy

thanks guys.

the rear wheels are widened to 10's, all 4 wheel are rebackspaced to give me a decent lip in the back and to suck the front wheels in more so I can turn lower. then they bored the hub holes so I can run the bullet center caps, moved the valve stems to the backside of the wheels, and got rid of all the writing on the wheels to smooth them out. Finally they where black chromed.

stockton wheel did all the work on the wheels. which was one of the worse bussiness deals I've ever had. they said 4-6 weeks to complete, took about 14 weeks. When I called to check on them, they would put me on hold for an hour before my call would just drop. Just terrible service.

the workmanship of the wheels is decent. For the time and money I spent I feel like they could be much better. but they did balance out with not much weight and they ride fine down the road.

I had a similar experience with them about 6 years ago with some K-H bent spoke 16" early Ford rims, had a lot of work done to them to make them safe for a hot rod but it took over a year to get them back.

They have been thrown off the team!!!!

Your rims look great man. Sorry to hear about the bad service. I used them many years ago to widen some rims also. I'm about 250 miles away and I drove them down there. I was told it would be about 2 weeks then I could pick em up. After bugging them for three months I went and pick them up. They removed all the tires and managed to lose a tire and center caps. I've never used them since. The rims never were worked on. I ended up having someone else do the work.

Re: so lets build a truck/my '52 chevy

the rims arent painted, they are black chrome. And the cost was about what a normal set of billet 20's would have cost.

Re: so lets build a truck/my '52 chevy

I saw your truck at ///RA this past weekend, and it was by far my favorite truck there. Absolutely beautiful. Great job on the build. As I told one of my buddies, I have just one problem with it. If it was mine I would be too scared to drive it anywhere, as it is too nice! But you had no problems with that, as it looked great driving low through town as well. Very nice job!!!

Re: so lets build a truck/my '52 chevy

not sure which award your talking about, I didnt win anything at goodguys. I did win something at the Relaxed Allstar event.

I entered the under 25 class since Im 21( started truck when I was 17) and the guy that won just did a regular restoration on a cutlass 442. Kind of disappointed in the goodguys guys. Im not pissed I didn't win, but I am disappointed in what won when there where many other "customs" with plenty of fab and time that where well deserving.

Re: so lets build a truck/my '52 chevy

Just read this thread from start to finish, and all i can say is WOW.

Great work, very creative! I like how you bring in the "new generation" of building into the picture. I guess I just havnt seen too many classics with fiberglass work!

I am extremely motivated by your work!

KEEP IT UP!
