Re: PO has me PO'd

WTH, why is there a M7x1 nut on my vent wing window....

16398592788818671975298718188069 by [url=https://www.flickr.com/photos/97391199@N06

Back story, after 4 weeks of buying nuts, to no avail, I humbled myself and called my son!

Telling him of my problem, he said "is it metric?" I said, "It's a 1972 GMC jimmy, how could it be metric" so I gave him the OD, and pitch, he did some math, and came up with M7x1.

I said thank you, wish I had called you sooner, instead of wasting 40.00 in nuts, he said

At the cost of my engineering degree, you are way ahead.lol

Valentines Day, my wife asked me if there was anything I needed for my truck. My immediate response was a BBWM, I called Ben at enegineed vintage and he had one in stock for a 67-72, should be here next week

I know all about COVID, went thru 4 immediate family over the holiday season, I even had a touch of the flu myself, thank goodness for vaccines.

Glad you still have the trucks and wagon, when the weather breaks, maybe I can get to see it.

Wife and I do day trips to Brielle....

Started install, mock up of the BBWM, just had to remove outside bumper bracket as bolt was interfering with mount, I was going to install winch mount with the bumper in place, but decided it was easier to get the bumper out of the way......

Nice part so far, just some of the bolts are not threading by hand, I may run a die on them, I plan to use low mount, since, I won't have to cut a hole in my nice bumper to mount a fair lead

Thanks for watching
Jim

Re: PO has me PO'd

Mocked up, feet up mount, called Warn, service tech said that a feet up mount requires a mod to the winch, apparently clutch and motor have to be switched from side to side, we'll see how that goes.........

Transmission jack was invaluable to get this winch in place
Need to rotate winch 180 degrees

Re: PO has me PO'd

This my winch mounting system, 3/8-16 hex drive studs with square nuts, much easier then trying to get bolts thru mounting plate lineup with feet and into square nuts. Held together with serrated flange nuts.

Time to grade product, I would say this is an A++ product, easy to install, great directions, answers texts in minutes, and very tough powder coating, plus no drilling or cutting involved. EV did his homework on this product

Thanks Ben, for offering me this product

Tools required, I would say your basic home shop, with a transmission jack,as floor jack seemed to be a little to unstable and didn't have the height

Now, my least favorite part, wiring!, we'll see how that goes.......

Retirement is great, lots of truck time, just a different lifestyle

Glad everything is good at home

Just ordered my shackle mounts, was worried someone would steal my tow hooks, price of those has gone thru the roof
