Really nice stuff going on. The diff vent is very cool. Consider that idea stole! The bed wood looks real nice too. You mentioned doing something different if you were to do it again. What would that be?

After I stained them I just started clearing them, sanding in between each heavy coat or 2 but the clear is to hard to get built up thick enough to hide the wood grain. Next time I will coat with a product like "bar top" that flows into all the grain, then clear it for uv protection. I haven't done the 4 corner pieces so I will try it in them and let you know. The first way took me 2 weeks of sanding and clearing. F that!

I have been through this before. You have to stain them seal them then clear with automotive clear. If you don't seal then the wood will suck up the clear and it will take forever. Ask me how I know this.

I left about inch of metal below the bed rails so I could bolt my wheel tubz in and it still gave me good clearance. I don't remember exact numbers and I'm at work so I'm away from truck. Hope that helps you

Re: '72 Drop member... "Betty"

Couple more shots. Painted exhaust ceramic black and we were able to get the stock brake booster to fit with sloshtubz. I was happy about that because I want to keep the stock ish appearance.

Thanks for that info! Can u give us an example of the particular sealer to be used?

The exhaust came out great. What ceramic black paint did you use?
