Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN ** The truck Chevrolet should have built.

First off, and I think everyone agrees, that is an amazing build. I was searching google for body swaps from 60's pickups to '99 and up chassis when I found yours. It took me almost three days but I read through the whole thing, just crazy, especially the quadrasteer.

I have far lower expectations for my project, I just want to put my rusty '66 C10 on a new chassis and drivetrain, kind of a daily driver rat rod if you will, with a focus on comfort like yours.

Just beautiful, Drew, congratulations

Drew, you did an incredible job on the house! The patio and ceilings are awesome! I love it. The hammocks, bother a fat guy.

I saw your truck driving across the Kroger parking lot today. I was hoping to see your beautiful truck in person and meet you, but couldn't catch up with you. Maybe some other time.

Wow, your house is amazing. I know we shouldn't second-guess our gifts, but I really do wish I was half the craftsman you are.

WOW, we just hit 500,000 views!

Sorry I have no news to report other than a new steering shaft to replace the one I had made earlier with a weak joint that was causing some slop in the steering wheel.

Slop in the steering with quadrasteer... how did that feel on the freeway?

Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN ** The truck Chevrolet should have built.

hello Drew and Renshaw family. I have browsed through this entire thread, and I have thoroughly enjoyed it. I love the truck. I think your home is beautiful. It's very nice to see everything that has gone on throughout the course of this build over the last couple of years. I am excited to get started on my truck. My kids are pretty young, but very excited about helping. My 5 yr old son said we "were going to build our truck, because I am going to help you, Right Daddy?" as we were looking through a parts catalog. I just wanted you to know I appreciate you letting me have a glimpse into your life and the amazing transformation of your super sweet truck.

I made it sound worse than it really was, the steering wheel just had a little movement on center that resulted in no direction change, much like the old truck steering system. I wanted it to be precise like the new truck setup that it was.

Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN ** The truck Chevrolet should have built.

Putting Young Frankie to work towing!

It was a perfectly uneventful 6 hour tow from Baton Rouge. Plenty enough power and brakes, smooth as silk. At 75 to 80 it was amazing and I nearly forgot that I was towing 4000+ pounds.

Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN ** The truck Chevrolet should have built.

it's hilarious that my co-worker and I were just talking today about making my 40 year old truck into the shops "tow"- truck to bring back the cars we put wheels on such as beemers and range rovers I couldn't stop smiling about our old vehicles pulling nearly brand new cars the sight of this is perfect

Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN ** The truck Chevrolet should have built.

Sorry I didn't even think about my fans. I was so concerned about the tow and getting back in daylight that I didn't even consider I was driving through towns that had members that knew me.

4000+ lbs? Did you have the trunk full of lead shot or what?

Nice to see you using your truck Drew.

The Toyota Avalon weighs in at 3600 lbs, and I'm sure that stout U-haul dolly is at least 500 lbs. Another insurance salvage that I just couldn't pass up!

Yes, using the snot out of it. It's been my only vehicle for the past 3 months. It"s so fun everyday to have people staring, honking, waving me down, confused looks, you name it. Nobody has said " My grandpa used to have one just like that " though!!!!
