Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds

Good question - locking hubs were optional, so on a no-kidding brush truck, either there would be no need for them if it was always gonna live on the dirt or maybe they just went absolute bottom dollar on a fire truck purchase. Or they could be this type and just full of dirt n grease (really is kinda hard to tell in the pic).

I can't remember the name of that hub plate either. But it makes the gears and drive shaft spin all the time

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds

Good question - I thought the ones i posted a pic of were thru 68, but I’m honestly not sure. Truck in question is a 70, so I haven’t exactly helped solve the mystery

Sharp, but wondering how much of a frankentruck it is (if it is) - looks like 1/2 ton axles/6 lugs.
EDIT: Oddly, also of note, this is the 2ND Longhorn I've seen in about a month with that kind of emblem placement...

Yeah that's an odd placement of the emblem. Lock Doc has the nice one.

1967 GMC 4x4 SWB, $4500, original V6 engine.
Figured this wouldn't last long, it sold in less than 24 hours.

I don’t have a problem with making them short but at least let it be known.

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds

Short beds have two piece drive shafts as well as one piece and if it's a cut down truck they took out the center stake pocket I'm thinking its a real short bed

That was what prompted my earlier response. The only shortbed driveshaft I’d seen was a 1 piece and that bed looks cut. I guess it could be still but he sent me a pic of the SPID and it’s a short wheelbase.

The driver side looks to have been patched together but if it was a 8 ft bed it would have a weld seam between the rear of the wheel opening and the taillight not at the wheel opening and the passenger side doesn't look cut at all
