Re: The "Frankenstine" build;

Hello;

Well got to the Dr on Wed.
At was a good day to go.
Then on Thur we got the wind back in.
It was cool yesterday.
SNOW last nite n COLD today.

Ordered parts from LMC today;
1 lens for front part lite
2 rear window rubber
3 glove box
4 fuel neck cover

Pick up some backing board on Wed from the upholstery shop.
Now I need to fab up a set of armrest with elect window switch holder out of something ??

Just still to COLD to get out in the shop.

So NO new pic to share.

Looks like I will have one(1) new socket next week if I can get to Alb.
Then the Dr will start the two(2) other new sockets.
Takes about 4 weeks per socket.

Well that is all that is new from here.

The server(internet) was down for the past 3 days.

Re: The "Frankenstine" build;

Hello;

It SNOWED here all day (on n off);
So spent most of the day inside.
Been try to make some type of drawing for the armrest?
Think I'll just try to make it out of coat hangers (body) n cover it with some
type of fiber ?

Re: The "Frankenstine" build;

Hello Everyone;
(UP DATE)

Have not been posting in a few days.
Been down with a problem in my right knee.
Seems that with the left leg out of wack it put to much pressure on the right knee(just very sore).
So have been off of it for a few days.
My Dr is setting up NEW office in Rio Rancho (90) miles one way,then 20 to the VA office.
Will get the NEW socket next Wednesday.

I ordered the rear window rubber mount,the gas filler plug n a glove box from LMC.
Received the parts yesterday.
So time to get back to work.
It has been cold here all so so that worked out for me all so.

Have started the door panel in the house for now.

Will try to get some pic tomorrow of the work that I'm doing,if the weather hold out.

Re: The "Frankenstine" build;

Glass going in and door panel fabrication are getting closer and closer to driving. Will you be using the rope method to pull the rear seal in Tim?

Re: The "Frankenstine" build;

Hello;

When I get ready to put the rear window in the cab, I have a friend who helped me put the front windows in.
Yes we used the rope trick to install them with.
Plus I all so got the extra rubber that goes in the outside rubber to hold the window in tighter.
Have not made an opening for the door handle yet.
Just found a used door to figure out how to do the bear claw latches on.
This way I dont screw up a good door.

Well thats it for now.

Re: The "Frankenstine" build;

Hello;

I need some help ! !
I need some input on which way to do the front grill ! !
Should I paint the front grill all one color (sand) ? ?
Or should I paint it a two tone (white) n (sand) ??

If I just go with one color (sand) then I will not have to take it all apart.
If I go with the two tone, then I have to cut the grill apart to do the two tone.

Look at the pic n give me your input ! !

Thank You ! !

Re: The "Frankenstine" build;

Tim, I like a little contrast so I would paint the grill white. Might be more work but hey if you weren't doing this you would be playing in the snow. Clay

Re: The "Frankenstine" build;

White would set it off and going with body color would look good. All in all, I vote body color Tim.

Re: The "Frankenstine" build;

I'm going to be the odd man out but I think I'd do the contrasting Tan with white accents. The two tone version. But like they say its your truck so whatever floats your boat!

Re: The "Frankenstine" build;

Hello Everyone;

Well got to work on the project today.
Fitted n marked the fuel hole plug. (pic)
Got the DS n PS wing windows painted (pic0
Worked on the grill bars.
For now just painted them the same color as the body. (pic)
Thinking I'll try one of the lower bars to two tone n see what it looks like.
Been try to get a hold of an old door to work out the pattern for the bear claw latches.
Just don't want to cut up my doors n find out that I goofed it up.
All so thinking about useing n inside elect door release instead of door handles, but keep the outside type door handles n key locks.
Think this would make the door real nice with only arm rests.

Well going to go to Alb (DR) tomorrow for the 1st of my new leg sockets.

Want to thank;
AD - for the reply to the bars
Kodiaks 53 - for his reply
Clay n flashed - for they reply.

Thank All;

Re: The "Frankenstine" build;

Thanks All;

I also have to get use to my NEW socket with a NEW boot.
So I'm breaking in a NEW boot with the NEW socket, So as everyone know that just breaking in a NEW set of boots is hard enough with good legs.
Just as soon as I can get to feeling better then I'll get back on the project.
Have gotten the power window rails.
Will redo the front grill bars to two tone.
