Hooked up to the wrong vacuum line. Got that taken care of.

Broke my radiator, so put a new one in. Finished the wood bed. Just need to polish the cap and bolt it down.

Bolting the bed together was a B!TCH. I did custom wood size and didnt want the bolts exposed through the wood where it mounts so i had to modify that. 30 drill holes later, its all mounted and good to go. There were so many spots i couldnt fit my hand i had to bribe the wife to get in there and do it... So i added pics of that. ahah. While working on the bed, the whole family helped. I had both my twins handing her parts and my 11 year old holding the bolts from the top... I just kinda got to sit back and watch. LOL

Re: My build. Project Karma. 71 stepside.

Got some more done. Got the transmission shifting correctly and took her for another spin.

I machined my rotors to get my centerline smoothies caps to fit. While i was doing that i replaced all my bearings and races. I used my brake lathe at work.

As you can see, the cap doesnt fit. And it would look completely unfinished not having a cap on there. So i had to do some work. This is what it started out as.

Here i was on the lathe. Had to take the snout down a bit also.

I had to put the beveled edge in by manually using the controls. That was pretty fun and i got it pretty damn smooth and round.

Test fitting the cap. Looks pretty good.

I bolted the rotor to the rim and put the cap in. Fits great. Now, i have to quit stalling and finish the body work now that the majority of the mechanical is all done. sorry for the crappy pics but i forgot the camera.

Ya, I'm guessing you take the Monroe Duval Hy way, go up toward Woodinville, the Kashmir rd (?). That's the way my Dad use to commute back it the day. I couldn't imagine taking Hy 2 during the commuting hours. I still snicker when I see that sign on 2.

That works to; I guess. haha

I'm just glad I didn't move back out to Monroe when I got back here. Granted I like it out there but the traffic would make me nuts.

522 wasn't like that when I lived out there. They were working on it when I left, and I saw it when I got back (6 years later). Still haven't driven on it though.

Well, i had it assembled enough to drive it. Now that the engine is basically done. I removed the whole front end and am going to finish the body work. Moved my core support back a bit to get the fenders to fit better.

Just need to body work the fenders/hood/grill. Then put some color on it... THen once thats done.. All i have to do is the cab... Outside of the cab... Thats almost done.. Just needs a quick coat of Feather fill, final sand, epoxy and color...

Close. Just havent done much.

Looks good. I didn't know that you just sanded and cleared the dash. I think you should take a pic of it for us.

I want a 454 also. Not gonna happen for a while though.

I did, back on page 5. Clear coated the snot out of it... Now the clear has UV protection in there and a few people were worried it would turn brown or start rusting... I had the ash tray sitting OUTSIDE since i did that dash and its still perfect. ahah..

I must have forgot about the pic. I've seen pictures of an AD truck that the whole truck was done like that. The dash looks great.
