Re: John's Project
Can't hate on something like that. I'm not a dodge man myself, but the SRT8 stuff is pretty mean.
Yeah I talked to the bank this morning about it. They aren't wanting to loan enough for it so I'm may go talk to the guys at the dealership just to see what they can come up with. If they can make it happen then I might have one. If not no biggie. My aunt and uncle let Holly drive their TBSS last night and today to see if she likes them. Of course she does, that was a no brainer. So we'll see what happens. |

Yeah you don't realize until you get started how bad it is. I have a steamer with the upholstery attachment I use about every 6 months on the 4x4 since i'm in it so much

Re: John's Project
I know this isn't related to my 84, but I figured it would be as good a place as any. Holly and I bought a Trailblazer SS. We had a 03 Mustang GT, and we really liked it. Only problem was as my youngest daughter was getting older, and taller it wasn't as comfortable for her. Granted whenever we all went somewhere we usually took my truck, but not all the time. Also my wife was getting tired of trying to squeeze all the groceries into the small trunk opening. So she mentioned that she would like to try and find something bigger. She said she liked the Trailblazers, but really hated to sell the Mustang. So of course I came to the conclusion that we needed to get a SS. You get the benefits of more room with the performance like the Mustang. Have cake and eat it too! So that started the search. Quickly found out they haven't come down into price range just yet. They were getting close, but just not there. That's when my aunt and uncle suggested that Holly drive their SS just to make sure she liked it. Well that pretty much sealed the deal, Thanks I think. So I came across one here locally at a dealership that is running a special on their internet. They priced it low, and right in our target range. Well to make a long story short here it is. These pics are when it was still at the dealership. You guys know how good I am about taking pics so I thought this would keep me from getting mauled.
This thing is an absolute blast to drive. It blows the Mustang away. Then you have tons of extra space to boot. Like my uncle says everytime he floors his, "Worth every penny!" Sorry to get off topic, but just had to share. |

Here ya go! I look at the dang things all day. You'll have to pony up about 90k for that one.... But a trailblazer SS or SRT8 jeep will not stand a chance. 555hp, twin turbo 4.8l V8 AWD 0-60 in 4.5 sec

Re: John's Project
I tell you what Dennis. Find a SS to let her drive. That's all it took for Holly. She knew I wanted one, but wasn't sold on it herself. She just texted me a little bit ago, and said " I LOVE the SS".

Re: John's Project
Congrats on your new purchase! I couldn't get my wife to even consider a TBSS. We ended up with a Tahoe instead. The Tahoe turned into a Lincoln MKX a couple of weeks ago.

Re: John's Project
Thanks guys. Yeah Holly didn't want anything bigger than the Trailblazer. She really doesn't like driving my 03 Sierra 1500HD 4x4 Crew Cab. So when we started looking she really liked the look of the SS, but the price really was a big factor. When this one was so cheap we couldn't pass it up. We were actually going to wait until after the first of the year. Glad we didn't now.

Re: John's Project
Well I finally have some updates. Travis will be happy too because the update includes pics.
I got around to getting the engine painted today. I decided to go with Chevy Orange. I figured it would look good in the black engine bay. I don't have any pics of the engine bay. I thought I did, but I'll get some taken before the engine goes in. Here are the shots of the engine in the painting process. I used Rust-O-Leum engine primer, and paint. Here is the finished shot. I think it turned out really good. I'm planning on painting the brackets for the Alternator, and AC black. The headers will be ceramic coated. |

Re: John's Project
Still debating on the air cleaner. I kind of like the ball milled aluminum one to match the valve covers, but I also like a the black round one with Chevrolet around the front edge. I kind of think the black one would help break up the aluminum.
Here are the pics of the ones I'm looking at. |
